Who are the People that will be under the Shadow of the highest Heaven?

Mohammad Rafique Etesame

Narrated Abu Hurarah (R.A.) from the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that seven Muslims would be under the throne of Allah at the day of Judgement when there would be no shadow but the shadow of it. First was a Magistrate or Qazi of a Shariah Court who judges by truth, second was that who worships Allah almighty in the bloom of his youth, third was that who when remembers Allah in his loneliness and has tears in his eyes, fourth was that who’s heart remains ‘hang’ in the mosque that when he comes out from it after offering one prayer, then he waits for other prayer, fifth was the two Muslims that meet and separate from each other only for the sake of Allah, sixth was that who when invited by a beautiful and lineage woman for sexual desire, he says to her “ I fear from Allah”, seven was that who when gives charity to the needy, then hides it till his left hand does not know what the right hand gave. (Bokhari, Muslim)

This hadith reveals the seven categories of the faithful believers that will be under the shadow of the throne of God when there will be no shadow but the shadow of it. According to the teachings of Islam, the Earth will be at that day so heat full as if it had been made by copper and height of the Sun will be according to a spear. There will be no tree or building etc. for shadow at that time. So, they are very lucky who would be under the shadow of the highest heaven.

(1) Among them, there will be a Magistrate of a shariah court who judges by truth. Surely, it is a difficult task because the two parties i.e. claimant and the defendant try their best to have the verdict in their own favor. So, they pressure the Magistrate by offering bribery or influence etc. If he does not come under any pressure, then he would be given that reward.

(2) The young Muslim that worships Allah Almighty, no doubt that the time of youth is the riotous, licentious age and to be overtaken by lust and sexual desires. But who has control over himself and remains busy in worship, and then he will be given that reward.

(3) And that faithful believer will also be under that shadow who when remembers Allah in his loneliness and has tears in his eyes.

(4) And the two Muslims who meet and separate only for the sake of Islam. Although it is not prohibited to meet together for the worldly affairs.

(5) And the faithful believer who’s heart always “remains hang” in the mosque; it does not mean that he has no other business except worship. But he earns his daily bread and does other works also, but he offers prayers for five times daily regularly and his works do not stop him to do so. Allah Almighty Says in the holy Qur’an, “Men whom neither merchandise nor sale beguileth from remembrance of Allah in prayer and paying to the poor their du; who fear a day when hearts and eyeballs will be overturned;” (Alnoor:38)

(6) And that Muslim will also be awarded the shadow of the heaven who when invited by a beautiful and lineage woman to fulfill her sexual desire, but he does not follow her and says “no” to her. No doubt that it is very difficult task particularly in the time of internet when the entire globe is like a village and the flood of obscenity and nudity flow in full swing as the chatting by web cam, sending unlawful messages and pictures are going on without any hesitation that make the sexual relations easy. But that Muslim is very lucky who save his faith and good deeds at that time.

(7) Last is the Muslim who will be awarded that great reward is: who does not like to be seen when he gives charity and poor-due etc. So he hides it from other people. The holy Qur’an reveals,”ye will not attain unto piety until ye spend of that which ye love. And whatsoever ye spend, Allah is aware thereof”. (The Family of Imran:92)

May Allah Gives us ‘taufeeq’ to do good works like the above mentioned Muslims so that we also will be awarded the shadow of the throne of Allah Almighty. Ameen.
