Peace be with you all

I hope you are doing well.

Is this how your life is?
I feel i cant take mine anymore. Thanks to a brother from this forum who helped me financially,i managed to settle down in a foreing country. But here i am all alone,no muslims,no sunni masjids, but even if there were,i have no time for anything.

I miss isha and fajr because i am at work,i work at night,in a job that i HATE.I pray them later but its not the same.I never missed fajr for years even when i was a secret muslim, but now.....But i also cant quit this job, even though i want to.How else can i live, and pay the bills? I am an emigrant to them i am uneducated so i cant get another job.

I am very depressed and so so lonely.I wish Allah could take my soul.Working, sleeping, working, thats all,no time to do anything,no person to interact with.Maybe a wife would fix this.I am able to take care of another person now elhamdulillah.

But how can i search for a muslim girl to marry with, when i barely have time for myself.I didnt even eat today,no time to cook.I woke up,cried, now im writing this, fix smth in the house, pray and go to work.Thats all whats my life is about.I cant even search for her, even online when i dont have time.

So,how can i find a way out of this vicious circle? To find time for Allah, other than merely ppraying salah, and time to grow as a muslim? How can i deal with depression and so much loneliness?
How do you do it?

Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

I pray that Allah ta’ala takes away your sadness, depression and loneliness and replace it with happiness and blessings.

Which country are you living in, brother?

Regarding depression I recommend you recite and listen to explanations of Surah Duha and Surah Yousuf as there are lessons in these surahs for people who are depressed.

wa 'alaykumussalaam

Akhi, may Allah make it easy for you to practice Islam. InshaAllah you will be granted a job that will allow you to fulfill Islamic obligations without hardship. Salat especially, is the first action judged by Allah on Judgement Day.

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (ﷺ), who said:
Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says: The first of his actions for which a servant of Allah will be held accountable on the Day of Resurrection will be his prayers.
If they are in order, then he will have prospered and succeeded: and if they are wanting, then he will have failed and lost.
If there is something defective in his obligatory prayers, the Lord (glorified and exalted be He) will say: See if My servant has any supererogatory prayers with which may be completed that which was defective in his obligatory prayers.
Then the rest of his actions will be judged in like fashion. (At-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, an-Nasa'i, Ibn Majah and Ahmad)

Below is from https://islamqa.info/en/answers/2071...t-should-he-do

"It is not permissible to delay the prayer beyond its time because of work. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Men whom neither trade nor sale (business) diverts from the remembrance of Allaah (with heart and tongue) nor from performing As‑Salaah (Iqaamat‑as‑Salaah) nor from giving the Zakaah.
They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will be overturned (out of the horror of the torment of the Day of Resurrection).
That Allaah may reward them according to the best of their deeds, and add even more for them out of His Grace. And Allaah provides without measure to whom He wills” [al-Noor 24:37-38]
So you must organize your time at work in a way that will not interfere with your performing the prayers on time and work out an agreement on a suitable solution with the administration,
even if that causes you some difficulty, such as working extra hours, for example.
Note that the benefits of increased faith in your heart that you will get as a result of praying on time will compensate for any difficulties you encounter, and that hardship will turn to joy
– in sha Allaah – because you will be putting up with it for the sake of Allaah and seeking His pleasure."

As for dealing with fast life, depression - I find the Qur'an always helps, either reciting and reading translation or translation and tafsir.
Indeed Allah said the Qur'an is guidance, healing and mercy to believers.
O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers. (Yunus 57)

I am not on social media, but I do watch news and sometimes it can be depressing, so instead of only watching the news,
I watch Islamic lectures or sometimes muslims talking about current events around the world. It's just interesting for me to know other muslims' perspectives living somewhere else in the world about whats going on.

Also you need to do regular exercise and eat healthy. Physical health, mental health, all that is connected.
Don't stress out much of what you cannot do, what you do not have. Life in this dunya is a test, and this is not a test you can abort anytime you want.
So don't be too hard on yourself and trust that Allah Most Knowing of what you're going through.
Keep making this dua Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa salaam most frequently made : https://quran.com/2/201
inshaAllah it will be granted

Wa Alaikum Assalam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,

Alhamdulillah good to hear from you brother. May Allah make things easy for you. Ameen!

What type of job is this? I am sure you can take few minutes break in between to pray?

Couple of things you can do.

  1. Check with your work to take 15-20 minutes break to pray Isha and Fajr at work. Ask if you can get a separate room to pray? Often time, it is a matter of asking and they can arrange things for you.
  2. Do evaluate your degrees so that those can be accepted in Germany. This will open doors for better jobs, you can work less hours to make more money In Sha'a Allah.
  3. Look into driving a taxi, Left or Uber. The advantage for this is that you can work at your own schedule.
  4. Look into amazon delivery, again this will allow you to work at your own schedule.
  5. Look into driving a truck, what you need is to get the license and you can work as a driver to start with but eventually you can buy your own truck within a year or so. This is more like your own business and sometimes truck drivers in European countries make as much as engineers and doctors make.
  6. Apply for more jobs which have better schedule and pay. Try to apply at least for two jobs in a week until you get one In Sha'a Allah.

Seems like the main issue is to find the right job so that you can have more time in hand to reflect upon your life and put together a priority list for yourself to work on. Working continuously will result in several issues including depression, physical and mental health issues and therefore it is important to work less and in smart ways. I pray that may Allah help you to find a better job soon, try what is suggested above. Make lots of dua and In sha'a Allah, Allah will open doors from where you would not have imagined.

And Allah knows the best!

By recitation of Holy Quran you can overcome depression and stress. Reading Quran with Translation also enables you to reduce your stress.

I just watched a video that I believe everyone who is struggling in life should watch. It isn't long and is very easy to understand.

Everything the Brother says in that video is truth. We need to remember that we own nothing in the world and that we will return to Allah in the end. All of the trials that we go through are meant to separate us from the non-believers and to cause us to always turn back to Allah. Every time you have any kind of hardship, remember the words "Inna Lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un" (We belong to Allah and to Him shall we return) and your hardships become easier because you realize that Allah is in control of your affairs and all you have to do is trust in Him. Everything you go through is temporary and that you are supposed to face difficulties, that is the purpose of this life. If I had lived my life according to these words, I wouldn't be in the mess I am in now, but Al Hamdullilah, even now, I don't stress about it. All we can do is try our best and rely on Allah.

I can pray now,dw brother, the prayer times and work time is changing so its good now.I couldn’t agree more. The last part is exactly what I think too. Thanks for reinforcing my thoughts. We need to reflect upon ourselves, life, universe etc.Otherwise we are just robots trading our time for worthless dunya things.
I have thought of these too, especially the truck thing.I will do it in shaa Allah after a few months.Bureocracy stuff. Well thanks for your reply and for reinforcing my thoughts. It gives me more motivation to improve my life.I felt I was the one being delusional going “against the system”,but this kind of life isn’t suitable for a muslim.Better to give your time to Allah and be poor than selling your time for nothing.Ill do what you suggested as soon as I can in shaa Allah.Hope things are well with you akhi.May Allah bless you,you are a very good brother.

This video made me be grateful for the things we take for granted.Elhamdulillah for everything.
I dont avoid social media because it causes depression. I just dont find it important to have an account there. If I want to talk or meet friends and family, I dont need an online account to do that.
If I want to know news around the world, including news about muslims, I can find that on Youtube or any news channels. Many people I know are on social media, have left it.
Social media is a great tool to reach millions of people - if you are in politics, entertainment industry, freelancer, anything that requires worldwide exposure. So if used correctly, its actually a great tool to spread Islam as well.
Indeed, Alhamdulillah for everything, even the hardships. Allah may expiate some of our sins with the least pain such pain caused by a prick of thorn.

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri and Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim,
even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that." (Sahih al Bukhari)
