Brother we are all sinful. ALL of us sin and makes mistakes. But you know what makes up better than most? Those who REPENT! Repent and you will be beloved to Allah. We all make mistakes and fall to our nafs but the best are those who to try to change and reform. So hope is not lost and try to reform and change your ways. May Allah make it easy for you

The fact that you recognize your faults and want to know how to remedy them is a testament to you not being as bad as you think. The first thing you can do to start your journey to purification is to learn about Islam. Go make ghusl and do salah if you're not doing them. Even if you don't want to, force yourself to. Get a copy of the Quran and start reading it everyday. You don't have to read much, try doing a page a day, but with its tafsir so you understand its meaning.

Give up doing obvious sins such as listening to music, eating non-zabiha foods, and looking at people with lust. Remember that you are only human and that you will screw up. No one is perfect, but Allah will forgive you as long as you understand that it is wrong, regret it and try to not do it again. Make dua to Allah to cleanse and purify your heart and to guide you away from sins. Little by little, you will see that you are getting better, inshallah. Have realistic expectations, don't think everything will change over night.

When you get thoughts of being arrogant, angry, or whatever else, just remember Allah and that all power is in His hands. Remember that life is temporary and doesn't matter and all that does matter is where you end up when you die. Its not easy at first, but over time, as long as you make an effort, it gets better and better.

Go watch Islamic lectures on YouTube if you're a visual person. I recommend FreeQuranEducation because they have some decent animations and make learning about Islam more engaging.

I think the same way about myself..however, i try to focus on the positives in me. Compare myself with people who are corrupt, who violate other peoples rights, thieves, murderers etc. Start with baby steps and try to improve yourself. Start form your parents get them a glass of water ever few hours. Help them in the chores. As far as anger is concerned, recite astaghfirullah as muvh as u can. It will. Help. Ask Allah to have mercy on u. Inshallah things will get better.
And remember no one in this world is sin-free.to err is human, to forgive Divine. Allah is the most merciful and forgiving.

Sometimes its the environment that we're in that makes us who we are. As the saying goes, "I'm a product of my environment". Unfortunately, there is no easy solution to that problem. It takes a lot of effort to move away from a place, especially in places where you grew up and/or have family with you. Sometimes it isn't the environment and more about your level of faith. Or it could just be a combination of things.

As noted before, everyone is sinful in their own way but if it's a habitual thing or if its affecting your personality, then it becomes a long term problem for you and those around you. I think its up to each individual to really take the time to evaluate their lives and situation to figure out what it is they need to do in order to change for the better. Easier said than done but sometimes the good doesn't come without the struggle.

Assalamu Salam Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

Firstly - you feel you've done wrong? No problem!

What has Allah azza wajal said about this in the Quran? Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." (Surah Az-Zumar Verse 53)

So what do we learn from this ayat? No matter what we've done.....Don't Despair. Seek forgiveness and start fresh. Try your best from Today to say sincerely 100 times Istighfar (Astagfirullah) - Why? Click here to learn some of the benefits

Secondly - Do you know the power of Dua? Dua is a weapon of a believer! Want to share a Beautiful Dua for Pure Nafs:

Arabic to English Pronunciation: Allahumma ati nafsi taqwaha, wa zakkiha Anta khairu man zakkaha, Anta waliyyuha wa maulaha.

Meaning: O Allah! Grant me the sense of piety and purify my soul as You are the Best to purify it. You are its Guardian and its Protecting Friend.

I fail too often to conduct proper practise of my religion. Im dissapointed in myself.
It seems that my spirit is not strong enough and my nafs is way too ugly.
It feels like sin seeps from every crevice of fortress of faith that i tried to build between me and dunya. i would like to follow the most severe and ascetic instruction in order to maintain myself pure.
If you have any advices of what to do in order to fight a temptetion and sins of the world succefuly please share your thoughts. Shaitan attacks me severly.

. I havent seen notifications so far.
Thank you for your good words.
I do better though. We have to be strong and persevered in faith. We live in ugly times so we have to fight evil influences more diligently.Nowadays shaitan attacks believers more ferociously than ever before. But we will win. Inshallah.
