Wa-Alaikum Assalam Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu Sister,
It depends and there are difference of opinions regarding these. If you read the hadiths, you can see that one is specifically referring to last one third of the night & second one is much broader as it mentions any part of the night. It could be mid night, it could be few hours after Isha and it could be last one third of the night. I guess it depends when one prays Tahajjud or Qiyyam al lail or both. Some scholars consider Qiyyam al lail and Tahajjud as the same prayer, other considered them as two separate prayers. Hence the difference of opinion.

I answered this in another thread and gave reference to hadiths, no time in mentioned in those hadiths, link to the thread is below:
Crowing of the Rooster
Now we hear rooster crowing several times a day, does that mean we should keep making dua everytime we hear him? We may also have a dog in neighborhood, should we seek refuge from Shaytan every time we hear the dog barking? No, it will be going to extremes. Therefore, scholars say that make the dua when you hear the rooster crowing the first time and that should suffice ( Perhaps that's why Sheikh Asim Alhakim mentioned to make dua at Fajr when you hear the rooster). And perhaps one can hear the Rooster crowing an hour before Fajr (Tahajjud time).
We also know that the angels change shifts during asr and Fajr time. And roosters normally crow a lot during these times. That is the reason we have recommended adhkar of the morning and evening time & these are the times righteous people like to remember Allah and make lot of du'as.

There are several opinions on this regard. Some say, it is the time between two khutbas. Some say it is between 'Asr & Maghreb. I agree with what Sheikh Asim said.

I asked assim al hakeem through his website he sd it is bogus, badduas of parents is ineffective esp one made in anger.
I am sorry to hear that sister. Don't worry about this because inorder to understand this hadith, one should understand that Allah is Just. The curse of parents is accepted without a doubt if it is just, if it is unjust then it is not accepted. Hadith below may help to understand this better:
Abud-Darda' (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "When a person curses somebody or something, the curse goes up to heaven and the gates of heaven get closed. Then it comes down to the earth and its gates get closed. Then it turns right and left, and if it does not find an entrance to go anywhere, it returns to the person or thing that was cursed; if he or it deserves to be cursed; otherwise it returns to the person who uttered it."
[Abu Dawud].
