Assalam aleykum!

I'm interested in certain particulars of arab society before Islam. For example, does anyone know how did arabs refer to the Jabar Al Noor (the mountain of light) before Quran was sent down? Did it hold any important position among arabs of pre islamic times? How did they refer to the Cave of Hira (or this its original name)? What does "Hira" stand for (as translated from Arabic)? Any assistance is highly appreciated.
