and If I'm autistic? can't i just live off disability benefits from the government or money from my family? finding a job is too hard without a degree, and there are some doubts ill finish a degree, and even more that ill find a degree, maintain a job, AND avoid sexual scandal. (or some other conflict with morons, narcissists, or feel drained)

Salaam @SintoDinto

If I was in your position I would try with best endeavors to get a job or at least have something to keep you occupied. I'm not suggesting chase money, however there must be something you enjoy doing or passionate about?

i know its difficult (I have a nephew who is autistic and I know the challenges he faces growing up), but you have to at least try and stay positive and optimistic.

I could tell you about my career ventures, things didn't work out for me the way I planned but through perseverance, acceptance, many years of patience I am where I am at now, Alhamdulillah. I'm not happy about my journey in aspects of employment ventures, but I am somewhat happy where I am at now. Money doesn't do it for me although I wish I could earn more to help with my current situation, its the passion for the field I work in that keeps me going and the job satisfaction. Wasn't all roses and all good, opportunities eventually opened up although not on a timely basis as I had envisaged.

take heed to the following:
You should work for your own benefit, try for halal income
Marriage and family should not be the 'driver' for whether you try to get out there and get a job.
You are an academic... right? stick to your studies the best you can, then once that milestone has been reached, adjust your direction i.e. get a job, start at the bottom if you have to.
Have faith, sitting back and having these thoughts is counter productive, opportunities dont just fall into your lap, you have to try and get out there to get what you want!

if you say you are autistic then it is not the be all and end all

"Only 15% of adults with autism are currently in employment, although many more want to work. People with autism can be extremely reliable employees who possess good attention to detail, high levels of concentration and strong research skills."

You have strengths, you just haven't realised all of them yet. It will be hard to discover especially if you do not put yourself out there or if you dont exert efforts and apply yourself.

I'm telling you .... go out and discover them!

the negative stuff you mentioned above, its possible yes, but its not 100% guaranteed you will be faced with them, i.e. sexual scandals, not everyone is faced with them, off course individuals need to conduct themselves professionally at all times and all that, sometimes they don't and then they get hit with something like that.

Another point, when looking to get married, women look for someone who is working, someone who can financially provide for them and the family unit, minority of women go for an unemployed person, very rare cases

Don't give up. Have hope and faith especially when facing adversity brother

why do I have hope in you...? well i have experience of some of the stuff you are feeling, I also know of many individuals who were unemployed or did start at that bottom, who did eventually find a job or did move on to bigger and better things...

In Sha Allah, things get easier and better for you.

Please remember me and my family in your prayers dear brother. Hope this has helped. Jzk.

Wouldn't you rather work for empowerment? Self-independence? Self-reliance? If you have a major argument with your family you can leave and not be in the street for example? Aren't all those reasons to find work? Forget women wanting a hard working man, or wife or children. Don't get married. No big deal. I am not married. Virgin even. How is that? But I want work. I get depressed if I do not have a job...not get depressed if I don't have a wife or lineage. I could die single and I don't care. But I will be miserable if I rely on government the rest of my life.
