Hadith of The Day
عن ابن عمر، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" اذكروا محاسن موتاكم وكفوا عن مساويهم

Describe the virtues of your dead and refrain from describing their evils

The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said,” Describe the virtues of your dead and refrain from describing their evils” (Sunan Abi Daud)

This hadith reveals that when someone dies, then his successors or other people who gather there, should not describe his evils but should describe his virtues.
Because another hadith reveals that when a corpse is lying and people gather around it, if they say that the dying person was a good man, then Paradise becomes obligatory for him, and if they say that he was a bad man, then the Hellfire becomes obligatory on him.

Therefore, it is necessary that the dead should be mentioned in good words so that he may be entered the Paradise.
And, in case if someone starts to describe the evils of the oppressor after his passing away and gets angry over him and makes such accusations that are not found in him, then he himself will also be taken into accountability. So, he should stop his tongue from ridicule and leave the matter to Allah Almighty.
