Hadith of The Day

A matter of Concern about the Good or Bad Actions

By Mohammad Rafique Etesame

Abu Hurairah (R.A.) reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying:

If anyone summons other to follow right guidance, his reward will be equivalent to that of the people who follow him, without their rewards being diminished in any respect on that account; and if anyone summons others to follow error the sin of which sins being diminished in any respect on that account.

This hadith reveals that if any Muslim invites to other people to follow the good act or acts and the people follow him, then he will receive the good reward and along with it, he will also receive the same reward equivalent to that of the people who follow him.

For example, a faithful believer invites other Muslims to offer prayers or to pay the poor-due (zakat) or to observe the fasting of Ramadan, and then the people who will act upon these Islamic teachings due to his invitation, then Allah Almighty will give that man the same reward that will be equivalent to those people who follow him without their rewards being diminished in any respect.

And on the other hand, if someone invites the people to commit sins or to commit adulatory, to tell a lie or to deceive others etc. Or he invents any innovation into Islamic beliefs or actions, then he will be punished and also will be suffered the same punishment of those who follow him without being diminished in any respect on that account.

So, it is necessary to a faithful believer that he must enjoin the good and forbid the evil, in order to get the immense reward from Allah Almighty.
