View Full Version : lonliness in the pandemic and fights with stressed mother

I live with my mother during the raging pandemic in the USA, and I feel alone because I not only am alone due to my lack of social skills, but also social isolation due to social distancing and my extraversion and bpd (borderline) and neediness. i constantly ask my stressed out and workaholic mother for reassurance, but she yells at me leading to fights. this constantly happens. she also gossips about me to our relatives, and constantly talks about how my neediness makes her want to die.
i feel overwhelmed, and she feels overwhelmed, and due to the lack of a license, and the lack of money to pay for lessons at times, and my inability to learn, i cant work. so she works in a dead end job. but i may eventually get my license, though im unsure.

May Allah make it easy for you and your family

More and more people are experiencing financial, psychological and physical health issues all over the world, right now pandemic is making it worse but later on it will be something else.

Maintain acts of worship and increase them, will bring you closer to Allah, the only One who can bestow you everything you need and want in dunya and akhira.
Keep ibadat during times of ease and especially during hard times, that's when you need Him the most.

Asalamualykum

Sometimes we just need to shift our mindset ever so slightly and we'll see miraculous results. One can be in a room full of people and still feel lonely and one can be alone but never feel lonely.

Life is a matter of perspective. If you talk to Allah swt through zikar, duas, remembrance of Allah swt etc. One can never feel alone.

Try not to annoy your mum too much. Every human needs some space from time to time and if someone is constantly in your face 24/7 it can get annoying especially spiritually as you have no time to reflect!

Why don't you read islamic books? Once you get your head in a book you won't have any spare time.

I'm sorry to hear that.It made me feel your pain.Read Islamic books, find an activity that you like & dua often.Ultimately, things will ease out.Just that you aren't alone, there are tonnes of people like you & me suffering a hell lot of pain& torture.
