The mujāhidah Safīyyah, the aunt of the Prophet

Safīyyah was a tough woman. Look at her lesson on the battlefield. In the battle of the Trench, the whole world united against the Prophet The whole world, over ten thousand military armies united against the Prophet To add to the devastation they’re over there hiding behind the Trench, ten thousand coalition over there, are against the Prophet He gets the news that he is betrayed by the Jewish tribe behind him and Allāh Quotes it in the Qur-ān:

إِذْ جَاءُوكُم مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنكُمْ
[Sūrah al-Ahzāb verse 10]

They were in both directions and coming here. When the Jews betrayed the treaty, they said "the best thing you could do; let’s not fight Muhammed [صلى الله عليه وسلم] let’s go on top of the hilltop where the women are and kill them". They’d sent one man to look up there. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم has put Hassān ibn Thābit as the watchman over there. Hassān was not a fighter, that’s why the Prophet put him with the women. He wasn’t a fighter, he was a poet. He was a weak fighter, he was the Prophet’s صلى الله عليه وسلم poet so Safīyyah has seen the Jewish man walking around, climbing up towards them, so she said: “Hassān, we got to fight this visitor, do something”.

Hassān said: "what do you want me to do?"

[She said:] "Get him out. The guy is trying to kill us".

So he said: "I can do nothing". You know what Safiyyah رضي الله عنها does?

She takes the stick in the middle of the tent, walks out and wraps a turban around her head. From far away, she looks like a man. She takes the turban and waits, hits the Jew one time on his head and kills him by that. Not only that, she cuts his neck out and sends it back to the Jews.

The Jews said: "didn’t we tell you Muhammed would never leave the women without his men?" They thought there was a man protecting them.

This was the aunt of the Prophet
