*** What to say when coming to the prayer line ***

Bismillaah:

Sa'd ibn abi Waqqas رضي الله عنه relates:

A man came to the salah while the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم was performing salah. He said when he came to the prayer line:

اللَّهُمَّ آتِنِي أَفْضَلَ مَا تُؤْتِي عِبَادَكَ الصَّالِحِينَ

" Allaahumah atini afdala ma tu'ti ibaadakas Saliheen "

'' O Allaah, grant me the best that You grant Your pious slaves."

When the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم completed the salah he asked: " Who spoke?" The man replied:" I Messenger of Allaah." He صلى الله عليه وسلم said: then your horse will be hamstrung and you will become Martyred in the way of Allaah."
