Bismillaah:

A slave should never despair of the Mercy and forgiveness of Allaah عزوجل. Rather, whenever he commits a sin, he should repent to his Lord, the All forgiving.

Allaah عزوجل said:

Say, O My servants who have exceeded the limits against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allaah’s mercy, for Allaah certainly forgives all sins. He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

{ Surah Zumar verse 58 }

Imam Ibn Katheer رحمه الله commented:

This Ayah is a call to all sinners, be they disbelievers or others, to repent and turn to Allaah. This Ayah tells us that Allaah عزوجل will forgive all the sins of those who repent to Him and turn back to Him, no matter what or how many his sins are.

{ Tafseer Quran Al Kareem }

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه said:

The Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم said:

“If your sins were to reach to the heavens and then you repented, Allaah would still accept your repentance.”

Takhreej:

{ Imam Ibn Majah in his Sunnan #4248 and graded as Hasan by Al Busaayri, Al Iraqi and Abu Taahir. Al Mundhiri said it is Jayyid and Al Haithami said it's narrators are all trustworthy }

Al Hafiz Imaad ud Deen رحمه الله commented:

What is meant is that Allaah forgives all sins provided that a person repents. Additionally, one must not despair of the mercy of Allaah even if his sins are many and great, for the door of repentance and mercy is expansive.

{ Al Misbah Al Muneer }

Al Hafiz Abu Muaadh رحمه الله commented:

A person after committing a sin, should repent as soon as possible. However, due to negligence or being under the influence of one's own whims or Satan, if he cannot repent immediately, then he should repent whenever he regrets on his sins. One should abstain from not thinking that his sins might not be forgiven
because they are huge. Nevertheless, repentance should be from one's heart and with conviction, not only by words."

{ Al Haasiyah Sunnan Ibn Majah }
