Bismillaah:

Abdullaah Ibn Amr رضي الله عنه said:

The blessed Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

'' Do not pluck out white hair, for it is a light of the Muslim. There is no Muslim who becomes white haired in Islam but it will be a light for him on the day of resurrection [and] Allaah will record a good deed for it and erase a bad deed for it .''

Takhreej:

{ Imam Ahmad in his Musnad # 210 and graded as Hasan by Hafiz Muhammad Hasan and Abu Muaadh }

Some Scholars considered it an absolute prohibition to pluck the white hairs of the head and the beard. It is, however, allowed to change the white hair to any color except the black dye for it is prohibited.

Jaabir bin Abdullaah رضي الله عنه said:

Abu Quhafah was brought on the day of the conquest of Makkah, and his hair and beard were white. The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

'' Change it with something, but avoid black "

Takhreej:

{ Imam Muslim in his Saheeh }

Anas bin Malik رضي الله عنه said:

'' We were with the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم , one day when the Jews entered upon them, and they saw them having white beards, so he صلى الله عليه وسلم said '' Why do you not dye? So it was said, they dislike it . So he صلى الله عليه وسلم said But rather you dye! And beware of black.''

Takhreej:

{ Hafiz Noor ud Deen Al Haythami رحمه الله in his Majma and he said it's narrators are trustworthy }

Abu Darda رضي الله عنه fi Marfu'an:

'' He who dyes with black, Allaah will blacken his face on the day of Resurrection ''

Takhreej:

{ Hafiz Noor ud Deen al Haythami in his Majma and he said its narrators are trustworthy }

Abdullaah Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه said:

The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

'' At the end of time some people will dye their hair with black like the breast of pigeons. They will not smell the fragrance of Paradise."

Takhreej:

{ Imam Ahmad in his Musnad # 273, At Tabaraani Im his Mu'jam and graded as Saheeh by Al Hafiz Muhammad Hasan and Abu Muaadh }

Imam Naasir ud Deen Al Albaani رحمه الله commented:

[ Based upon the following Ahadeeth ] thus it is clear that using the black dye is forbidden, and this is the position of a group of scholars and about which Imam Ibn ul Qayyim رحمه الله said, '' It is what is correct without a doubt.''

{ Silsilah Ahadeeth Ad Daeefah #2972, Al Lubaab, Majma Az Zawaaid }
