View Full Version : Jews pray through dead rabbis?

02-20-2023, 12:13 PM
I stumbled onto a video on youtube and was just playing it while working.

Between a jew and a pagan about cathlotics and the jewish guy says Jews dont pray directly to god, they pray through dead rabbis.

Anyone heard of this, and know how prevalent this is?

We know some Muslims do this sometimes where they pray through intermediares and it's completely wrong according to the sunnah. But it's still done nevertheless. I wonder if this is more prevalant and accepted in judiasim or just fringe groups like it is with the Muslim world.

I had a college friend who lived in a Hasidic area of New York (whole town was dark on Shabbat), and I did encounter some Jews who would go to the graves of dead rabbis and pray over them. I think it is a rare thing, but it happens

I thought Judaism was strictly monotheistic
But I guess they have lots of different sects too...
