Hello I am in Estonia. Mullah Ilda Mohammadzin is my new friend. I am learning arabic as beginner, tricky to read!!
I have read that Prophet Mohammad's wife had relatives who followed Isa as Christian and I am the same. Allah is creator God of universe, Mohammad was prophet of one true God to the pagan arabs. So why cant muslims and followers of Isa live in peace? Seems it was more peaceful to live side by side in Mohammed's day than today? Sin is still the problem since Adam and Eve's fall, human nature has not evolved! Still all must have Allah's forgiveness and love.
Hope many can tell the difference between westerners and followers of Isa who are european! Westerner does not equal follower of Isa! Most westerners are secular humanists or socialists...they worship man as god. They have little respect for Allah and Mohammad and Isa! They have problem!
anyway
peace be upon you all and may Allah bless you!!

thank u for welcome

I am watching the news in Iraq. Can yu help understand how did the split between sunni and shia occur? I assume there was some historical events that caused it. Sorry no one has told me yet.

Hi Craig and welcome to our forum!

It is a great pleasure to have you with us. :) You raised a number of interesting points in your post:

Believe it or not, but you just wrote the Muslim testimony of faith. To be a Muslim (someone who submits to God) one must believe in the One God who created our universe, and that Muhammad is the last and final messenger of God. If someone believes that then they are a Muslim.

Muslims believe that God sent many Prophets to mankind, all of the preaching the same message - to worship one God, to be loving to His creation, to enjoin the good and forbid the evil, etc. Anyone who studies the sacred scriptures will find this element was preached by all the Prophets. Muslims consider all the Prophets to be Muslims (those who submit to God) and that they all preached Islam (submission to God). Muhammad pbuh was the last of these prophets, sent to all humanity.

So why cant muslims and followers of Isa live in peace?
Actually, I think you've answered your own question later in your post:
They have little respect for Allah and Mohammad and Isa! They have problem!
I agree this is the problem. How can we live in peace with eachother if we do not show respect, tolerance, and mutual understanding? Islam teaches us to respect all people, regardless of their faith, and in doing so we can better convey the message of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh.

As a side note, every people had to follow the Prophet of their time. So, for example, when Prophet Isa (Jesus) was sent to his people, they were supposed to follow him. Now in the time of Prophet Muhammad pbuh, we need to follow him. Nevertheless, Muslims are still commanded to be respectful and kind to others irrespective of their belief, as mentioned above.

I would also agree with you that the west has become increasingly secular and has abandoned the divine guidance found in religions, which has lead to the degeneration of its moral principles and the depravity of modern society.

Peace!
