Gelatin (pork / beef) In Kellogg's products

Thank you for contacting Kellogg Company about the gelatin we add to some of our products. We are happy to provide you with this information.

Gelatin is used to help the texture of the product and is derived from
either beef or pork.

Kellogg's Frosted

Mini-Wheats and Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats cereals contain type B gelatin, which is derived from beef. Whenever marshmallow ingredients are present in a Kellogg's cereal brand, the marshmallow contains type gelatin, which is derived from pork.

Kellogg's Krave Snack Bars also contain type A gelatin derived
from pork sources.

Type B gelatin is derived from beef sources and is found in the frosting
of all varieties of Kellogg's Frosted Pop-Tarts, Kellogg's Frosted Pop-Tarts Snak-Stix

All varieties of Kellogg's Pop-Tarts Pastry Swirls, and Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Minis with Yogurt Icing. Plain (unfrosted) Kellogg's Pop-Tarts do not contain gelatin.

None of the equipment that comes in contact with the gelatin in Kellogg's
Frosted Pop-Tarts is used in the production of the other pastries.

Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats Squares contain type A gelatin in the marshmallow, which is derived from pork sources.

The pregelatinized wheat starch contained in some of our toaster pastries is derived from wheat and does not contain any gelatin.

Vegetable shortening only is used to produce plain or frosted Kellogg's
Pop-Tarts. No animal shortening is used.

We appreciate your patronage of our products and hope that this provides
you with the information you need to make food choices appropriate for
your family.

Sincerely,
Ana Lara
Consumer Affairs Department

(always check the ingreadients if in doubt when purchasing a product!!)

sure it's not got pork
but who says that kellogs slaughter's the cow for beef in the halaal way.
Since they add pork gelatin, to some products, do you think they slaughter by halaal means.
think about it...

Oh cool, pop-tarts are halal!
This kind of information should be passed in e-mails, not the usual emotional/religious blackmail crap that often fills up my junk and non junk folder.

Asalamoalaikum wr wb

Gelatin, which is used in some of 'Kelloggs' products to provide texture is derived from either beef or pork **UurgGhhHh**

sis not all 'kelloggs' products contain gelatin....Just make sure you always check the nutrition facts on the side panel of each 'kelloggs' package to determine if the product contains gelatin or not.

Some of their products containing pork gelatin include.....

* Kellogg cereal products which have marshmallow additives....

(i.e., Kellogg's Marshmallow Froot Loops cereal and Kellogg's Smorz cereal)

* All varieties of Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats Squares.

Products containing beef gelatin include...

* All varieties of Kellogg's Frosted Pop-Tarts
* Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats cereal
* Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats cereal
* Kellogg's Fruit-Flavored Snacks that contain gelatin.

ive made a habit of checking ingredients of any new products i purchase...its amazing how many products actually contain it!!

ps- gelatin is also used in shampoos, face masks, and other cosmetics
and i recently happend to check the incredients od some vitamins i was taking...and found gelatin as a coating of the capsules! Luckily, vegetarian capsules are now available from several companies.

Yes. Yes I am. In fact I bulldozed a Palestinian house just this morning, before gunning down a ruthless old man armed with a pebble. I shot all his vile brood as well. Then I sat down, took a big turd and lit up a Cuban.

And when I say 'Cuban', I don't mean a cigar.
