What happened before the Quran? Did Muslims exist, did the Muslim laws exist (not eating pork, not drinking alcohol…etc)?

Muslims did exist before the Qu'ran. Muslim means one who submits himself to Allah (God). So prior to the Qu'ran, the Prophets of that time, all came with the same message - that the people should worship none but the one true God. The laws which you speak of can mostly be found in the OT of the bible. They are not new laws. Some laws were abrogated and some were added in the Qu'ran, but most of them are in tact.

Hey.

We as muslims believe that the people who followed Jesus (peace be upon him) at his time were true believers, the people who followed Moses (peace be upon him) were true believers, the people who follow the true ways of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his beloved family) are also true believers.

Since Adam (peace be upon him) till Muhammad (peace be upon him), there have been 124,000 prophets, each coming to their nations to invite people to believe in pure monotheism (to worship God Almighty) alone without any partners. But as times passed by, people have corrupted the scriptures of the prophets, except the final message which is the qur'an, and the proof is there - (check any copy of the qur'an in the whole world, and every single copy is exactly the same, without any changes at all.)

God has promised to protect this message (the Qur'an), whereas the previous scriptures were to be protected by the nations themselves [this is the reason for their corruption.] And Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last of all prophets till the Day of Judgement (Doomsday)

If you got any questions, or dont understand anything - please do ask. thanks.

Peace.

Yes, like Br Fisabilillah said original followers of jesusd PBUH were actually by definition muslim, they worshipped God without any partners according to the way God wanted them to. There were also followers during the Prophet SAW's time, who followed original teachings of Jesus PBUH and so thety didn't eat pork etc., there are some even today who dodn't eat pork and drink

By definition, all prophets such as Moses Abraham David Noah etc were all muslims, they all submitted their will to God. You'll never see in the old or new testament Moses PBUH saying he is a Jew or Jesus PBUH saying he is a christian. If you read the scriptures, its clear they all caem with the same message, to worsip nobody except one God, and to tell us of the purpose in life, its a test on which we will be judged and will then enter heaven or hell

First problem, we believe the Torah today is not the Torah that moses PBUh had, and we don't have an authentic collection of his saying, so who knows what he said.
Either way, if you read my post, you would have seen he is a muslim by definition, that is by what a muslim means. Somebody who submitts himself to God's way, and worships God according to God's rules, without believing God has any partners
The early followers of moses and Jesus PBUH were by definition muslim, they followed the correct teachings that these two messengers taught, but after this early generation a lot of the laws were changed by men and today we as muslims don't believe these are the same teachings that these Prophets preached, so they are no longer muslims.
I mean Jesus PBUH is the perfect example, he was circumcised, didn't eat pork, didn't drink, had a beard, prayed and prostrated like we do today, but yet his followers don't, they changed the laws and brought new ones, do you now see what i mean?
