Well I was in the prayer room at college the other day and someone came in who wanted to learn about Islam and stated that in the near future he wanted to convert. I went over the basics of Islam (5 pillars, what are some responsibilities of a muslim, etc...). I gave him a little booklet on Islam that we have around for Daawah. I am going to meet him tomorrow and would like to know if anyone here can give me some good (resourceful) information that I can give to him. I doubt he will need anymore information than that book I gave him, but I need some more just in case. Anything good will help.

Jazakallah in advance.

wow thats great. Alhumdulillah.
Give him a copy of the english translation of the Quran inshaAllah.
And take things slow with him. Don't overwhelm him by giving him tooo much stuff! I think the Qur'an and the book you already have will do just fine for now.

^ i second that: Give him a copy of English Quran. And ask him IF he has questions regarding Islam.

The best way to learn is by asking.
If you lack knowledge - then simply say this to him: "I do not have enough knowledge about this question, but would gladly answer it by tomorrow" (and then you ask around for the answer, or post it here).

Also, like sis above suggested: Do not overwhelm him.

Jazak'Allah Khair

Thats great news bro! Yeah, just give him what you have and then ask him kindly, "Brother, can I get you anything else in particular? Are you interested in anything specific that I can try to get for you?"

May Allah reward you for you good intentions. Make dua for us also, that we get an opportunity to do the same as you!

Thanks for all the positive comments :)
Yea I met him today and I told him I didn't want to overload him with information. I also answered a few of his questions.
I told him to come back with any questions he wants to ask. Hopefully he will convert Monday, inshallah.

Thats is great news for us and also of course to Allah Almighty!

If he is really wants to convert to Islam..u can ask him to say:

A Muslim expresses his/her faith (Iman) in the following words:
Ash-hadu anla ilaha illal-Lahu Wahdahu la Sharika Lahu wa-ash-hadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu

The English translation of the Shahadah is as follows:
I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, the One, without any partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger.

Did u been explain to him about this?
