Quite a while ago i got a white gold chain saying 'Allah' in arabic. Is it haram to wear white gold? Even if it says Allah?

If it's something that Allah made haram, it wont be changed into something good no matter which way you put it. In fact it would be degrading to put a tattoo of the word Allah on your body, seeing that Allah has made tattoos haram

Islam means to submit to God, and on the terms he wants you to.

How does wearing a necklace with Allah or getting Allah tattooed on your body show your dedication? It's a do-it-once and then forget about it thing. On top of that, everytime you go into the toilet with the necklace on, your committing a sin, unless you take it off and leave it outside when you do. That's a lot of hassle isn't it?

If you want to show your dedication to Islam, to Allah - then pray 5 times a day, read the Quran, be fearful of Allah and spread the word of Islam through your good conduct.

A good thing done a bad way doesn't make everything good.

Volumn 007, Book 063, Hadith Number 259.
-----------------------------------------
Narated By Abu Juhaifa : The Prophet cursed the lady who practices tattooing and the one who gets herself tattooed, and one who eats (takes) Riba' (usury) and the one who gives it. And he prohibited taking the price of a dog, and the money earned by prostitution, and cursed the makers of pictures.

Volumn 007, Book 072, Hadith Number 832.
-----------------------------------------
Narated By 'Abdullah : Allah has cursed those women who practise tattooing and those who get it done for themselves, and those who remove hair from their faces, and those who artificially create spaces between their teeth to look beautiful, such women as alter the features created by Allah. Why should I not then curse those whom Allah's Apostle has cursed and that is in Allah's Book?

  • Wearing gold and silk is unlawful for males, since Islam considers them to be exclusive for women and a sign of femininity. The Prophet (peace be upon him) took a piece of silk and a piece of gold and said: “These two are forbidden for the men of my people.” [Sunan Abî Dâwûd]

  • He also said: "Wearing silk and gold has been made unlawful for the men of my people and lawful for the women." [Sunan al-Tirmidhî]

  • Therefore, it is forbidden for men to wear any kind of gold jewelry. It makes no difference if it is pure gold, 18 karat gold, white gold, or any colored alloy of gold. The ruling is the same as long as it is recognized as gold.
