very disappointed the way brazil performed today... I was expected much more since I almost bunked a class for this match... I hav been waiting to see this team in action for ages and they did not fulfil my dreams... I was hoping brazilian offense at full throttle and iron defense but I could only get later, that is also mainly thanks to Dida who was simply awesome... though his croatian counterpart was not bad either but Kaka's shot just before halftime was too good to save... apart from that one goal, brazilian kept losing the ball very often, Ronaldinho being the main culprit I think... he is a good player and I had high expectations from him after watching him nail one goal through English defense in 02WC... but he sure was not at his best or at least I did not feel so... :hiding:

Ronaldo was just standing in the field for most of the times... either he did not want to get involved or his team mates were just keeping him away as if he was an opponent... watever the reason was, Ronaldo let his fans includng me down... :grumbling

I am not at all satisfied with Brazil's performance... I hope they would improve and Ronaldo will get more opportunities and someone else other than Ronaldinho(he can takes as many shots as he wants) carries the ball in midfield... :heated:

I've being supporting Germany since 1986. Even I have some Dutch ancestry inside me, I wont be supporting Netherlands ... because I believe German is among the best team ever in the world. And I hate Nazi. But Nazi was somewhere in the last millenia, this millenia Germans are good people!

I am German and have lived in the UK for many years.
I can assure you that I have never encountered any negative reaction from Brits or any other people for that matter, because of my nationality!

Unfortunately, Germany's history is still fairly recent and has impacted many nations across the world ... and people don't forget easily. (And rightly so! Germany is very aware that the Nazi history should not be forgotten!)

Occasions, such as this World Cup, when nations come together to 'meet in battle' tend to resurrect those old animosities. If Germany get to play England at some stage, there will almost certainly be references made to WWII, at least in the tabloid rags. :rollseyes

If Brazil dont change their approach to the game, they will definitely will not go through the quarter finals. So far, they have been DANMNED lucky! Both against Croatia and against Australia! I could have swear that if only their opponent have capitalised on their chances Brazil could have actually lose the game. What else to say? Their game is very much BORING and UNIMPRESSIVE, until the moment Ronaldo is swapped upon with Robinho.

Well, ride their luck if they wished.... but so far in this tournament, the teams are more balanced. There is no such things such a clear favourite, atleast on paper. If they cant even controlled the midfield...., just dont hope for them to go far in this world cup!

I'm not surprised at all Tunisia lose out eventually to Spain with a 3-1 margin! Their performance are commendable in the first half as they virtually fought it off in each department and keep the Spain at bay.

But, their performance in the second half is simply....PATHETIC! Against an attacking team like Spain, you definitely cannot simply afford to let them gain control of the game! But that is exactly what the Tunisian have done! They let the Spain control the game....sigh! In midfield and in defense. What are they thinking? They have already won the match? With a one goal lead, anything can happened in this top match football. Spain did capitalise on their chances and they did score the equaliser. After that, the Tunisian world crumble....

Where the hell is their midfield? How come they defence are really inorganise in the second goal by Fernando Torres? 4 misplaced defender against 1 striker....sigh!

Btw, i'm glad that Spain won the game. They definitely deserved it for their effort. And what a beautiful game that they played.... Keep pushing and fighting on until the whistle blows and that is exactly how the game should have been played!

Yes akhi, i understand why you emphasise the need to be united, but i think supporting such and such a team will not lead to any major differences in the ummah(like rioting), the worst that could happen because of the world cup, might be some quarells about the match or something of that sort... i suppose that would be the worst possible scenario in our present time.

there are some people who are absolutely fanatic about football... i can't seem to understand why?? the World cup has caused deaths in Bangladesh.when Maradona was sent off during a WC match, some hundred bangladeshis commited suicide. that was like 2-3 decades ago.. hope things have changed for good in our times.
