Hello all, everyone I know is on this group - it's a wonderful resource!

Want to learn the words of the Qur'an?

There are less than 2300 distinct words in the Qur'an, and most words are repeated. By learning the most common words one can rapidly begin to understand words of the Qur'an during prayer, while reading by oneself, or just as an aid when learning Arabic.

There is currently an email listserv run by one of the MSA-UCLA members that sends out one Qur' anic Arabic word a day along with its meaning and a few verses in which it appears! It is sent out every weekday and contains a link to online flashcards for you to study the words as you learn them each day! If you would like to join, send an email to:

QWOTD-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

All previous words are posted online and available. An RSS feed is also available:

http://rss.groups.yahoo.com/group/QWOTD/rss

You can contact the list owner at: QWOTD-owner@yahoogroups.com

There are also online flashcards updated regularly at http://www.flashcardexchange.com
