I'm under the impression that some countries have adopted Islam as state religions. Does anyone know if this is officially true? Nonetheless, by having Islam as a state religion, it would be easier to rear children in an Islamic fashion. The likelyhood of the children abandoning Islam would be next to nothing.

I'm curious to find out your view about state religions, and if they are a good idea.
