don't chase the world, cuz it will shun you. chase the akhira, and it will await you..

(and that can be applied to college in the sense where people study so much so they get the best job, so in turn they can get the best house and car, etc. in the end what u get from all that wealth anyway. and then we forget about aspiring religious education.)

The Shortest Distance between a Problem and it's Solution is the Distance between your Knees and the Floor. The one who Kneels to Allah (Ta'ala) can Stand Up to Anything.

And whenever you give your word, say the truth [surah al-An’am; 6:152]

And seek help in patience and prayer [surah al-Baqarah; 2:45]

And speak good to people [surah al-Baqarah; 2:83]

And fulfil the Covenant of Allah when you have covenanted [surah al-Nahl; 16:91]

Verily! Allah commands that you should render back the trusts to those to whom they are due [surah al-Nisa’; 4:58]

And let not your hand be tied (like a miser) to your neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach (like a spendthrift) [surah al-Isra’; 17:29]

Eat and drink, but waste not by extravagance [surah al-A’raf; 7:31]

And take a provision (with you) for the journey, but the best provision is al-taqwa (piety, righteousness) [surah al-Baqarah; 2:197]

And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty) [surah al-Talaq; 65:2]

And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him [surah al-Talaq; 65:3]

He who obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah [surah al-Nisa’; 4:80]

By no means shall you attain al-birr (righteousness) until you spend (in Allaah’s cause) of that which you love [surah al ‘Imran; 3:92]

Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of Affairs (for us) [surah al ‘Imran; 3:171]

And walk not on the earth with conceit and arrogance [surah al-Isra’; 17:37]

And turn not your face away from men with pride [surah al-Luqman; 31:18]

And be moderate (or show no arrogance) in your walking, and lower your voice [surah al-Luqman; 31:19]

And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of obedience to Allah as a favour to Allah) [surah al-Muddaththir; 74:6]

“Do not laugh too much, for excessive laughter deadens the heart.”

A bad attitude spoils a good deed just as vinegar spoils honey.”

Ok here's one i thought now.

Islam is about submission, think of a muslim in airport security, the metal detector represents islam in its soliditity, the metal objects close to the muslims heart can be likened to his desires, unless a muslim drops all of his desires he will never progress.

Making decisions that can impact your life is a difficult thing. When you reach college Insha'Allaah, you should think carefully about which subjects you want to study, because these will most likely determine (although not always) what you will do at university. Make sure you go into something that you will enjoy and try to do something that will benefit the Ummah.

One more thing: Make the most of the time that you have now...if you think you have so much work to do that you can't do anything else then it is most likely to get much worse...in college and university you will only get even more work. Sometimes you might be given more flexible hours, depending on the course you do, but in terms of exam stress etc. I think in most cases it just increases the further you go in education. So while you are still doing GCSE's and SATS, these are nothing compared to what is coming.
So the message is (as also mentioned in hadeeth) to use your free time before your preoccupation.

"Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. Even as the stone of the fruit must break,
that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.

And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles
of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than
your joy; and you would accept the seasons of your heart,
even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over
your fields.

And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your
grief.... And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has been
fashioned of the clay which the Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears."
