ASSALAMU " ALAYKUM WA RAHMATULLAHI WA BARAKATUH.

I am a new member here on this forum. And look forward to hearing the many perspectives of your members.

I am a 45 year old white American male, living in Northern California.
I do not hold to any political view point per se', (such as socialism, communism, capitalism, etc..) but I do feel that equality for ALL people is upmost in importance. I also do not hold to any particular religious view other than there is but one GOD (the creator) and he has no equal. I suppose this belief would be more in-tune with both the Judaism and Muslim beliefs. But I am not an adherent to either. I am presently studying the teachings of the Prophet Zarathushtra in order to understand more about monotheistic religious beginnings.

The reason I decided to join this particular forum, it's being an Islamic one, is that I share many things in common with your belief. And I feel that there has been quite a bit of confusion and even fear in many westerner's minds as to what your Holy Quran says as well as what it represents in the way of morality and service to one another. Most people who fear it, have never even read it. They simply take another person's word as to what is written in it. Being an American-born male myself, I can say that without a doubt, it's been quite difficult to attempt to explain to these people at least what I have come to realize concerning this. (I have read the Quran) I am not a Muslim, therefore I cannot be an authoritive or proper representitive for this cause. But I do recognize the truth. And it is this truth that I am passionate for.

I used to be a Christian for many years. And have recently come to some conclusions that there is so much corruption within this religious realm, that I no longer wish to accept it's teachings. I have found fault and contridiction on many things within, not only within the Bible, but in the belief system itself. Only to be treated with contemptuous mirth for speaking about it and wanting a reasonable explaination to be given me.

Anyway.. I believe a lot of things are soon to take place in the world that if, we had a better understanding of one another, a better respect for our fellow man, would not take place. But that is just the delemma. There is evil in the world and it's disguised as an angel of light. What better disguise is there?

Thank You czgibson. I am only beginning really, in my studies of Zoroastrianism. Therefore I could add very little insight as yet. I have always been interested in Iran and Iraq. Ever since I was a child. I had always felt something drawing me to these countries. This was long before realizing my last name was an Arabic name. And Before I learned that Aryan was Persian.
My friends used to call me "Iman the Iran". It was funny because I used to wear a tahj-like wrap around my head and sandals. Too many re-runs of Lawrence of Arabia I suppose :)

Walaikumassalaam Chris

Beleive and act upon "Laa Ilaaha Ilallah Muhammadar RasoolAllah" before you take your last breath Chris. Once you come into Islam you will realize the beauty of your life and the truth that every human soul is reaching out for.
I swear by Allah that if you are really sincere and open-minded in seeking the truth Chris, you will enter into Islam.
Atleast make an effort and try your best to seek the truth with an open heart before you leave this world . Trust me Chris, to leave this world without even knowing your Creator is and the Creator of the whole universe, is not something worthy of because a painful punishment is waiting for those who rejected the signs of Allah.
