Bismillaah.

Pictures of non-living objects (e.g. depicting scenery) are perfectly acceptable. With the rest, consult your conscience. Inshaa-Allaah, if you do it to please Allaah 'Azza wa Jall, it will be highly commendable.

Aslaam-o-Alikum Brothers and Sisters!
i thank you all to help me in my problem but
i know that taking the pics are Haraam in Islam and those Brothers and sisters ask about Identification pic (Passports, D/Licences or ID Card or on Curuncies) are allowd coz saudi Scholars and many more schlars said on it that it is not your choice to take pics so it is not Hraam but those pics that are taken by your own choice are Haraam.
i had only question that all pics are saved in my computer files should be destroyed or not?

Jazakallah

Of course you don't destroy that stuff. It's a means of identification. :)

Bro, why are you wearing a hijab in the first place? :p

All the scholars' opinions I've read have said passport photos and other means of identification are permissible.

Wrong, brother. Not all pictures are 'wrong'. It depends on the picture. If it's of a non-living object, then it's perfectly permissible and can be plastered on your living room wall. But pictures depicting living things are highly questionable (or what you're after in your equation above).

There is a difference of opinion when it comes to pictures. As for photography, some scholars say it is not allowed while other scholars say it is allowed. But as for drawings, there is clear concensus that it is NOT allowed to draw living things (people, animals) with souls in them. the main reason for this is that it eventually leads to shirk like it did the people of Nuh (AS)
And Allah knows best

mate dont do anything you will regret later.. here is an article from islamtoday.com might help you make a choice.

Question: Why do some scholars claim that photography is unlawful while others consider it lawful?

Answered by the Fatwa Department Research Committee - chaired by Sheikh `Abd al-Wahhâb al-Turayrî

Al-Salâm `Alaykum wa Rahmah Allah wa Barakâtuh.

Please understand that photography did not exist at the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Therefore, scholars have to compare photography to matters that Islam has ruled about. The ruling, therefore, is not based on an explicit text but on juristic discretion (ijtihâd).

Some scholars have compared photography to hand-drawn pictures. Drawing pictures by hand of people and animals is unlawful by clear and unambiguous textual evidence. Ibn `Abbâs relates from the Prophet (peace be upon him): “Whoever makes an image in this world, he will be requested to breathe life into it on the Day of Resurrection, but he will not be able to do it.” [Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahih Mulsim]

Ibn Mas`ûd also relates that he heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: “The severest penalty on the Day of Resurrection will be given to image makers.” [Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahih Mulsim]

Photography resembles drawing pictures in that it is a human effort that results in a fixed image of a person or an animal on a flat surface. Therefore, some scholars ruled that photographing people and animals is unlawful, because it falls under the prohibited act of image-making.

There are, however, significant differences between drawing a picture and taking a photograph. Drawing a picture is a fully creative process on the part of the artist. Photography is capturing a reflected image on film or in digital memory. The creative contribution of the photographer is therefore quite different than the creative contribution of a portrait maker. For this reason many scholars, including Sheikh `Abd al-Wahhâb al-Turayrî, consider photography to be lawful.

And Allah knows best.
