Some good news for once.

Middle East mediators have endorsed a "temporary mechanism" to resume the flow of foreign aid to the Palestinians, the UN has said. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said the arrangement, which will last for three months, was agreed after talks between the US, UN, EU and Russia.

The Hamas-led Palestinian Authority has been facing a financial crisis since aid supplies were suspended in April. The US and EU have demanded Hamas recognises Israel and rejects violence. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Tuesday the onus for easing the economic plight of the Palestinians ultimately rested with the Hamas government. She said the EU would manage the interim mechanism for delivering aid to the Palestinians.

Palestinian government employees - who account for a large proportion of the workforce - have not been paid for the past two months. The World Bank and UN have warned that the failure to pay the workers could trigger a humanitarian and security crisis.

Representatives from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan also met the main mediators in the Middle East conflict on Tuesday. Arab countries and Hamas have been trying to find a way of paying Palestinian workers directly, bypassing the Hamas government.

Salaam,

Sad news, for then the Palestine again are beholden toward the west and are susceptible to their manipulations..

Inshallah, man may plan but Allah is the best of Planners.

The arabs goverement are too divided and too much embroiled int their own affairs or have treaties with the western nations for their own sake,,while leaving the ummah to die..

Inshallah, all shall answer for their own deeds..
