Brainstorming for the Face off thread

I think would be beneficial to discuss the answer for the thread Face off in order to win the points. I made other thread for that :-[ because we can't discuss inside of the thread due to the rules, which says clearly only the first 3 answers will be take into consideration.

The first question was answered-Abdullah ibn Uthmaan ibn Kaf.

lol we don't have to delete the thread just yet, we will get another oppertunity inshallah in which we might have to brainstorm. Unless a mod thinks it should be deleted, then they can do so..and this can be useful for all groups not just the full members inshallah. I think this is a great idea..

th happenings of FACE-OFF so far:

th Admins and mods team hav no points ....but th game has only just begun.

th super mods are already in th lead with a total of 2 points in ther basket. but dont worry. the members are not far behind. with already one point and one difficult question theyll tie with th super mods in no time(insha'Allaah)

th super mods hav exactly 56mins left to answer....and so far thers no sign of them:hiding: ......will they answer?....th clocks r ticking.....and time is running out!!

and do th admins kno th correct answer?.....they r determined they will win this game thro and thro. but so far their basket is....:zip:

if th super mods fail to answer th mods and admins will hav 12 hrs to answer th members question and basket a point instead. so which team will basket th next point?

In the Quran, Some Prophets, peace be upon them, have been mentioned by two names. Please identify three of these Prophets and their other names.

Sister Mawaddah has got the ball rolling for us members with two names

Prophet Muhammad first of all, in the Qur'an he was called Muhammad and also Ahmad as in surah As-Saff.

Also Prophet Yunus, in Surah al-Anbiyaa he is referred to as Dhan-Nooni.

So who's the final one going to be

The only one that comes to my mind is possibly Isa AS as he is also called the messiah.

I agree, how does 5 days sound as the maximum amount of time? Remeber that as soon as the question is correctly answered, the other team can ask straight away, which is why it might be good to keep some questions in mind/prepared, Insha'Allah.

Ibn Rushd is known world-wide. I wanted to use al-Qayrawani first, I think I'll go for it then, inshaAllah. Now it's 3 scholars from Maghreb region and one from Andalusia.

This new trivia game is called 'Face-Off'. In order to promote a friendly face-off and healthy trivia challenge, which should encourage us to learn and at the same time have a good time, we're going to see who ends up winning this Face-Off, and learns the most!

Participants:

Teams will consist of usergrous. In other words, there will be:

Staff Team
Members Team

Contrary to your opinions at this point, the amount of members on the team won't be of benefit, but rather, how well you work together, Insha'Allah.


Game Premises

This trivia will revolve around 7 trivia categories.


1) Knowledge of the Sahabah (radhiAllaahu anhum)
2) General Knowledge
3) Name the famous Qur'an Recitor
4) The Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad, salah allahu 'alayhi wa salam.
5) The Lives of the Previous Prophets.
6) Famous Figures
7) Qur'an Questions

Teams can only ask questions from the above categories. Please be precise with your questions so that it is clear and understandable to everyone.

The trivia will start with the Staff Team asking the first question. The 'Face-Off' challenge begins when the question is posted on this thread.

The Members Team will have 1 Week (max) to answer the question. If the question happens to be left unanswered, the Staff Team will immediately be awarded 1 point to their points basket. It means that their question is either too hard, or the other team lacks team effort.

If the Members Team answers the question, they can go on to ask the next question. However if they do not, the Staff Team can decide whether they want to ask the next question, or will allow for the Members Team to challenge them.

If a team member answers it correctly, it is upon any member from that group to pick up the task and ask a question from the 7 categories listed above.

Side rules:

- First three answers from the challenger group will qualify. For example, if a group posts 20 answers, only the first three will be taken into consideration as the correct answer.

- A member cannot answer twice.

- A member cannot edit, nor change his/her answer. If the edit bar shows an editing signal, the answer will be ignored. However, if the member edits his/her answer due to a spelling error after his/her answer has been accepted as correct, that editing will be allowed. The challenger has to accept that it was only a spelling error, and that the entire answer wasn't changed. No points will be lost in this case.

The Staff team will commence the challenge with their question to the challengers.
