A sigh from the soul...a cry from the Ummah

I long to distance myself from force of the world yet seem to delve in ever more,
The way forward seeks to forget the past, yet the present portrays the shadows cast.
My heart longs for bliss, it yearns for light, it craves for nourishment, it seeks the light!
Yet I hold back…why? I do not know…
I linger on aimlessly seeking…yet unwilling to strive…
Yearning…yet unwilling to struggle…
Craving…yet…reluctant to try…And WHY?
The world in all its glitter wraps its claws around…
My comfort zone it triggers and so I am bound…
I go on with a wish…vision of green birds…
But Alas! I am unworthy of such a position!
And so I remain in contemplation…
Ya Allaah! Forgive this wretched soul for its weakness surpasses!
A distant longing…a mute craving…in solitude I go on…
