This is the bit where it says he's a doc:

It says, to get a doctrate in international law. :)

Here ya go:

As says because they don't show Madina Fajr on Saudi TV. I prefer for the moment put just videos salat on the website. I don't understand why they don't show it on Saudi Tv2 because at Fajr Salat Time there is no programm on this Channel.

I think they show Madina Fajr on tv just on the month of Ramadan, I have seen that last years.

We have dial-up connection here. It takes very long to load videos.

Its something else that I want to check.
We went to the Haram for Jumuah, yesterday (Alhamdulillah) and stayed the night in Makkah to pray fajr before returning.
I got to see Shaikh Shuraim from very near and tried to meet him but couldnt. (I wonder how brother Abdullah Saood manages...)
Perhaps it was because he had just lead the Janzah prayer (or what else only Allah knows), Shaikh looked as if he is in grief and his face was not as bright as before. (don't take seriously, it might have been an illusion)

yes bro u r right Sheikh looks very dark from a distance, but its an illusion , because of the shade of his beard and what he wears on head (lol i forgot cant remeber plz tell me ill edit my post ),

i mostly pray on first floor exactly above Bab e Aziz , when i used to see him from first floor he always looked really dark from there,
and after prayers when i use to go down and see him from 5 to 10 feets distance he always looked fair and slim :) i must say he looks totally diffrent from Teleivsion.

and one more thing when he comes to lead pray , he looks very serious but after prayers he is like smileing ,talking to gaurds and other people of staff shaking hands :)

last time i saw him on july 7th 2006 i was almost in front of him during khutbah , he was looking very good mashaAllah , i think bro webcoran has the video of 7th july. i want to see that video maybe they have shown me also :). bro webcoran plz give me the link if u have the video .

Makkah Imam Blasts UN for Being a Mute Spectator
The imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah yesterday warned against the consequences of religious wars and clashes of civilizations, saying no country would be safe from such explosive incidents.
Delivering his Friday sermon, Saleh ibn Muhammad Al-Taleb also blasted the use of veto power against Muslim issues and interests at the UN Security Council.
The imam wondered why some Western governments were supporting the Israeli occupation of Arab land and the atrocities committed against Muslims, endangering their political and economic interests in the Muslim world.
He said it was in the interest of Western governments to establish stronger ties with Muslim countries that possess valuable natural resources including oil and have a combined population of nearly 1.5 billion.
“But these governments ignored Muslims and supported their enemy that has occupied their land after driving away their people,” the imam said.
He said many Western intellectuals have opposed religious wars between nations. However, religious sentiments were exploited to achieve certain goals.
“This will create an explosive situation and no country will be able to get away from its terrible consequences,” he explained.
He urged people of Western countries to change their biased attitude toward Muslim issues by changing their leaders and governments through ballot boxes.
“Otherwise, everybody will be considered a partner in these acts and responsible for their consequences,” he said.
Sheikh Saleh said some influential countries, maddened by their power and hegemony, were engaged in winning more enemies and spreading hatred among nations. The imam said such policies would breed more violence.
He referred to the pledge that had been taken by nations after the world wars to prevent a repetition of such dreadful incidents that had killed millions. Muslim countries joined the United Nations and other international organizations believing they would bring peace and security to humanity.
He said the United Nations had failed to achieve its goals as wars and bloodbaths continue to take place around the world. The UN stood like an observer when Western countries occupied Arab and Muslim lands.
“It not only takes the position of an observer but also the role of an agency that justifies the crime,” Sheikh Saleh told the hundreds of thousands of faithful including a large number of foreign pilgrims.
“We have seen positive intervention of these organizations very rarely and at many occasions it came after a lapse of time and after creating a fait accompli serving the interests of the aggressor,” the imam said.
Sheikh Hussein Al-Asheikh, the imam of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, also spoke about the Zionist attacks against Muslims in different parts of the world. He urged Muslims to strengthen their faith in God and stand united to face present and future challenges.
Last week, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, another imam of the Grand Mosque, described the Israeli military campaign against Lebanon as “Zionist terrorism” and urged that the perpetrators behind the aggression must be tried for committing war crimes.
“Those who condemn violence and fight terrorism must see how the children and orphans in a refugee camp were obliterated and listen to the cries of widows and mourners there,” the imam said, in reference to the Israeli bombing of the Lebanese village of Qana killing mostly women and children.
He said the current campaign of the Jewish state against Lebanon and Palestine had unmasked those who have been supporting the enemy and misleading the world opinion by raising the slogans of humaneness, peace and democracy.
Al-Sudais said the new world order failed to stop Israeli barbarism and despotism. “We should know that these killings and aggression are directed against every Muslim,” he said.
The imam also spoke about the irony of calling the heinous Israeli aggression and massacres as legitimate acts of self-defense and condemning the resistance of the oppressed as acts of terrorism.

I'm not much of a fan of Sheikh Sudais's qira'at. But Back in the day's it was the Best i ever heard. Wonderful mashallah but nowadays I'm not too fond of it.

However this is a recording which I made of Sheikh leading Jummah ( i cant remember what date exactly, sometime last year) and he recites beautiful.

I also love the way the Muaddhin calls the second Takbeer. Mashallah it sound sooo nice.

Nah not really. I was just saying that we (my family and I), were to set off for KSA today (the 14th). However, Allah had planned things differently and everything got cancelled on the last minute. :) It's nice to see who 'would have led what' 'if I was there' . lol

I have! ..It was the second time I went to KSA.. but it was only one dhuhr prayer that I only remember. At that time, I was only familiar with Sheikh Sudais's voice so I knew it was him. However, I remember Sheikh Shuraim's 'Allahu akbar' when going into sujood after the ruku' (it's so unique and so cool :coolious: ), and I remember his salam! That's cool too!

I always forget the year! ..and it was the year Sheikh Salih aal Talib became imam. :omg: 2002? (I'll check my passport. ^o) ).

wak, I have edited. <_<

I don't remember if I prayed any jahri prayers behind Sheikh Shuraim. :(

Oh yeah! I was going to say.. don't worry.. insha'Allah Sheikh Subbayl will be back soon if not now... because ramadhan isn't too far away now and the imams normally start leading their 'ramadhan' prayers a little before ramadhan actually starts. That is to say:

Sheikh Shuraim/Sheikh Salih aal Talib - fajr
Sheikh Sudais - maghrib
Sheikh Subbayl - isha (apart from last year where Sheikh Salih aal Talib also led).

hmm
