The Rotten Fruits of Democracy

Democracy is seen as being the enlightened and civilised way of life, with people all over the world working for its implementation. People commonly refer to it as being the only way forward for progression and development, citing countries such as the US and UK as examples of this; yet if we take a closer look at what these democracies have to offer, their civility and enlightenment becomes clear.

In terms of belief…

The moral degradation of society and having no defined ethical values results in people doing as they see fit, regardless of what it may be. People have so much disillusionment and non-reliance upon religion that they have abandoned it completely leaving them free to worship and revere anything, be it money, idols, animals, people or anything else. They have rejected the belief in God and hence have only a materialistic purpose in life where money and enjoyment are the key aims one must achieve by any means necessary.

In terms of the social aspect of society…

On the social level, the family structure has been destroyed whereby people don’t believe in marriage anymore as it ties them down, preventing them from enjoyment and fornication. Adultery is rife resulting in the breakdown of the few marriages that actually do take place and destroying the family and lives of the children. Divorce rates are higher than ever before and are still increasing. Single parent families are more common especially among teenage girls. Homosexuality is a trend among people with the legalisation of gay marriages and the teaching of it in schools. Child abuse is widespread together with domestic violence. Paedophiles walk the streets and are active throughout these democracies in positions of fame and power, being able to access the internet to further their evil. The suffering of psychological problems among the people is common, be this stress, depression or nervous breakdowns. Alcohol and drug abuse are rife with the trend changing towards the legalisation of many of them.

The pornographic industry is one of the biggest industries in these democracies together with escort agencies, dating agencies and prostitution whether legalised or not, all in order to feed the unmoral and hedonistic needs of the people. There is no trust between any two partners with the man knowing of the likelihood that his children are most probably not his, ending up molesting, abusing or mistreating them. Their partners freely mix with people of the opposite gender usually resulting in them sleeping together, ending up in further breakdown of relationships and the transmission of diseases.

In terms of the economic aspect…

There are many people who live on the streets in cardboard boxes, eating out of rubbish bins and begging in the streets that average people have no consideration for. Refuge homes for the homeless are everywhere to try and deal with the problem. People are only concerned about themselves and look to bettering their own lives not caring about others or society in general. The level of debts for the average person is in the thousands, upon which they are charged high interest rates; thus, they are not able to pay it back and are enslaved for the rest of their lives in order to work and clear their debts.

People spend most of their life working forty hours a week, neglecting their families and children by devoting their life to making money. Many people become unemployed or redundant after having worked and struggled for years due to computerisation and cut backs, leaving them to suffer. The rich and elite are the ones who control and are able to manipulate the economy and thus influence the lives of the people, looking to them as sheep that will sway whichever way they want. The television, computer games and music have destroyed the minds of the youth draining their brains from the ability to think and reflect upon life and its greater goals, grooming them to become the next generation of sheep that are ignorant of the facts who follow without to question.

In the political aspect…

The political realities of these democracies are full of lies, cheating, deception and scandals and the people have accepted this fact. The politicians will commonly lie in order to gain support from the people, only later to be exposed and forced to apologise. The people are given a sense of participation in the government by ticking a box on a piece of paper every four years, thinking that they have chosen their leadership when in fact their decisions are influenced by the media who are paid off by the political parties to support and favour their campaign. The government deliberately ignores the people and rejects their views if they go against its agenda and foreign policy, and does as it pleases in order to further the interests of the elite few who control and manipulate the political situation to suit themselves.

In terms of the foreign policy…

Colonisation and imperialism are the history of democracies; today it's very much the same. They occupy and invade foreign lands to enforce their way of life upon others. They usurp the resources of these less wealthy nations for their own benefit, leaving them in ruins. They hoard the natural resources of the world manipulating world markets for their gain. They influence and control foreign markets to ensure that they benefit from the sales of their goods and commodities. They create wars between nations so that they are able to sell weaponry and artillery to them which are usually old and outdated. They instil puppet regimes across the world who are subservient to them and who are used as pawns to meet their demands. They have military bases all over the world to ensure that they are able to maintain domination over it and quell any uprising or resistance against them. They spy upon others and frequently violate the national and international laws which they create without any reprisal or remorse.

In terms of human rights…

There is widespread racism and discrimination on the basis of origin, colour and belief in these democracies. They see people of other origins as being inferior to themselves; only recently were black people given similar rights before which they were treated like animals. Even women were seen as inferior to men until recently and even now they are treated as sex objects using their bodies as tools. These democracies discriminate against Muslims treating them in the most inhumane ways possible, Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib being clear examples of this where they violated the most basic of human rights and yet nothing is done about it. Organisations like the CIA conduct torture in secret jails throughout the world in order for their own gain. They arrest and detain Muslims without charge, trial or even defence, denying them the most basic civil rights.

The educational aspect…

These democracies teach children, as young as six, about sex and sexually transmitted diseases as part of their curriculum, together with drug abuse in order to prevent the new generation from being influenced by the widespread ills of their societies. There is a culture of free mixing in the educational institutions where they are encouraged to learn, try and test sexual activities between themselves. Homosexuality is taught as something that is normal and part of the genetic makeup and that we should be tolerant to people of various such tendencies. The education is secular taught from the angle of atheism using insane ideas, such as evolution, to try and fill the void. The education system is what rears the new generation giving them a materialistic outlook to life and for them to accept the democratic way of life as being the only way of life.

The judicial aspect…

The judicial systems in democracies are full of ironies and contradictions. They have a jury of people who are not known, nor have expert knowledge in the matter to decide on the judicial verdict issued. The decision is based upon the eloquence of the solicitors who represent the defendant as to how good they are able to make the case regardless of whether they are right or wrong. People are accused and sentenced for charges they never committed only to be released years later after having discovered the mistake. In these democracies a paedophile gets less of a sentence than a murderer, and a rapist is set free quicker than a burglar. They even have the death penalty where they inject or electrocute a person to death, yet they are supposed to be a civilised and humane people. There are lawsuits taken out against people for the most preposterous of things, like suing tobacco companies for getting cancer due to smoking, suing fast food outlets for gaining weight etc.

Conclusion

These are just some of the rotten fruits that exists in the democracies of the world today and they are by no means exhaustive nor are they specific to a particular country, rather you will find that wherever people are made to be sovereign, having the right to legislate and determine the way they live their life free from divine guidance, then this type of corruption and degradation will exist.

Ask yourself how civilised is the society of the West? Are they really as advanced and developed as is made out? Are they not living in darkness and in need of enlightenment? Do they not face endless problems in all areas of life for which they have no solution for? Do you really want to live in a society where people live like animals without any regard for anyone else? Do you really want to live in a society that has no bounds allowing and tolerating all possible views and practices?

Why then do we find that democracy is hailed as being the enlightened and superior way of life? Even more so, why do we find that Muslims are calling for democracy and working for its implementation? Are they blind to the reality of the lifestyle that these nations produce?

Allah (SWT) has elevated the Muslims because they have testified to Islam and believe in it, the natural consequence of which is that they live their lives in accordance with it. The only divine, complete and supreme way of life is the one decreed by Allah (SWT), i.e. Islam, and not the one devised from the minds of people based upon their desires and lusts. Truly the Kuffaar (non-Muslims) are upon falsehood and what they believe in and live according to is what will make them residents of the Hellfire. Why then do we (Muslims) feel the need to follow them and live like them? Do we not have the true guidance from Allah on how to live our lives? Democracy and all that emanates from it is retarded and perverse, something that is completely rejected in Islam.

"Allah is the Walî (Protector and Guardian) of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light. But as for those who disbelieve, their awliyaa' (supporters and helpers) are taaghout (false deities and false leaders, etc.), they bring them out from light into darkness. Those are the dwellers of the Fire, and they will abide therein forever." (EMQ 2:257)
