Bissmilla-Hir-rahmanir-Rahim

Dear respected brothers and sisters. I would like to say I have no intention of causing Fitna, but I believe this is a matter of Aqeedah and should be known by all. I would like to bring to your attention why we follow 1 of the 4 madh-hab and why we as "laymans" can't pick and choose between them. The details are provided by the article below:

http://www.themodernreligion.com/bas...hab-debate.htm

At the end of the day it boils down to common sense and reason. Here is a simple analogy:

You have a critical illness, the problem is such that it cannot be resolved by your local doctor. All the doctors around the world gather and Luckily you have 4 of the greatest doctors available to diagnose your problem and provide a solution. The knowledge and work of these 4 doctors has no Rival to date. We will name these doctors Z, X, C and V. Each of these doctors specialise in the same field.
All 4 of these great doctors propose different ways to get to the same solution. They respect each other views and agree all their methods, even though they are different, are sound.
WIll you dare, having no credentials whatsoever in this field, walk in amongst these doctors and say "I have heard all your methods, however I think Z is right in using this method, X is right in using that method and therefore must diagree with Z in this case. C happens to be right about applying this because V's solution regarding this appears weak"?.

And if there did happen to be a doctor who surpassed the knowledge of any of the 4 doctors then that doctor would have an obligation to clarify which methods are best for the benefit of mankind. But to date no one has been able to do this instead they refine the work of these 4 great doctors.

Just as a Salafi can't force me to follow 'salafism', i can't force anyone to follow a Madhab :) It is up to Allah swt to guide us all.

But what i will do is, i will paste the link to a book for any open minded Salafi as well as all the people who follow madhabs 'blindly', as we are accused of quite often by 'Salafis'.

The Legal Status Of Following A Madhab

Read it when you have time.

No1 is expected to change their creed, but please, for the Sake of Allah swt, stop it with the 'blind following' crap. :rollseyes

Those that carry on with the 'blind following' crap are people who think they are better than others.

Which is the very reason i cannot accept your creed, simply because i prefer to be down-to-earth, i don't like living life with my head in the clouds.

All of the 4 Imams stated that if anyone finds something in the Sunnah that goes against their rulings, then leave off their rulings and follow the Sunnah. For instance, I use to follow the Hanafi school of thought and was taught to wipe the back of my neck when doing wudoo. Later, I found out that that was not the Sunnah, nor can it be found in the hadiths - not even the ones I had from that school of thought.

The 4 Imams were great indeed, but somethings have been attributed to them that did not come from them, and that is where you must be careful. One the other side of that are things they all disagree upon, but yet all of them are correct and have strong evidence to support their opinions. In that case there is no harm in following one of them, but I sometimes prefer to change up sometimes. I continue to study, that's all we can do.

It is the advise of the majority of the Scholars that one should follow ONE Madhab, not 'change whenever you feel like it'.

but i can respect your choice.

may allah swt guide us all.
