Saya suka makan ringkas-ringkas bila berbuka... nasi banyak sangat lauk dan terlalu mengenyangkan... susah nak tarawih.
I love simple meal for iftar... rice have so many dishes that can make the tummy full....then it's hard to do tarawih.

Gambar Bubur Lambuk
Bubur Lambuk pic

"Bubur Lambuk" adalah bubur nasi yang dibubuh udang, daging lembu, daging ayam, lada hitam dan macam-macam lagi. Selalunya dimasak secara beramai-ramai di perkarangan masjid-masjid dan surau-surau di seluruh Malaysia semasa Ramadhan. Kemudian diberikan secara percuma kepada sesiapa sahaja, di Pulau Pinang orang Bukan Islam pun mengambil bubur ini.
"Bubur Lambuk" is a kind of rice porridge enriched with shrimps, beef, chicken, pepper etc. Usually cook by the local community at mosques or musallas' courtyards all over Malaysia during Ramadhan. The it'll be distributed freely to anyone, in Penang even Non Muslims got it too.

Kadang-kadang Bazar Ramadhan kat perkarangan mesjid, tapi yang pembeli ni macam tak tau nak hormat masjid.... beli lauk pakai seksi-seksi, mekap tebal-tebal.... cubalah sekurang-kurangnya berbaju kurung sepanjang Ramadhan..
Sometimes there are Bazaars at mosques' courtyards, but those buyers still do not know how to respect the mosques.... buying the dishes with sexy clothes and thick make-ups ... at least they should try to wear baju kurung for the whole month of Ramadhan

So......amacam bulan puasa kat malaysia this year? sudah tiga tahun saya tidak berpuasa di malaysia.......rindu sangat :cry:

( so how is the fasting month in malaysia this year? it's been three years since i last fasted in Malaysia and I miss it so much )

Over here in Bahamas, langsung tak ada suasana ramadhan, so sedih lah, kita sensorang aje and family....hujung2 minggu aje pergi masjid untuk solat tarawiih because masjid jauh sangat, dekat2 18km dari rumah.....hari hari yang lain tu solat aje kat rumah....tapi alhamdulillah 3ala kulli haal.

Kerajaan sepatutnya mengharamkan lagu-lagu raya dimainkan sebelum 3 hari terakhir sebelum raya.
The Government should ban all eid songs from being played at least before 3 days before eid.

Buka radio dengar lagu raya, pergi kompleks membeli-belah pun dengar lagu raya.
When you listen to the radio there would be eid songs, even in shopping complexes you can hear eid songs.

How come it's like this? In Ramadhan there isn't suposed to be all those Eid songs.

Hari Raya Pertama saya buat open house dari pukul 11 pagi sampai 11 malam.
On the first day of Eid, I'll be having an open house from 11 AM until 11 PM.

Hari Raya Kedua saya akan melawat semua sanak saudara di seluruh pulau Pinang seperti Batu Feringgi, Teluk Bahang, Balik Pulau, Teluk Kumbar, Bayan Lepas dan Bukit Jambul.
On the second day of eid, I'll be visiting all my relatives living all over the island such as Batu Feringgi, Teluk Bahang, Balik Pulau, Teluk Kumbar, Bayan Lepas dan Bukit Jambul.

On the third day of Eid, I'll be my best friend's best man, and he'll be married to a girl in Bukit Besar, Kedah

On the fourth day of eid me and some families from Penang will convoy and visit our relatives living in Kedah such as in Sungai Petani, Guar Chempedak, Kota Sarang Semut, Bukit Jenun and Alor Setar.

Yes it is.... it does sound like that...

Saya rasa filem-filem komedi P.Ramlee berjuta-juta kali lebih bagus dari filem-filem Malaysia sekarang.
I think P.Ramlee's comedy films are millions time better than present Malaysian films.

So "Wali Songo" means the "8 Saints"?

maap. terlupa pulak. songo tu sembilan. delapan tu wolu.
(sori, songo means nine)

(The nine walis were Sufi teachers who spread Islam and did all variety of powerful and unusual acts across Java. The histories of these men are not always clear. In fact, if you try to count all of them, you will end up with more than nine. Some sources say that there was more than one group of nine. The most probable explanation is that there was a loose council of nine religious leaders, and that as older members retired or passed away, new members were brought into this council.

Symbolically, for later rulers on Java, the wali songo provided a link between the rulers of Majapahit or earlier kingdoms, and the rulers of Mataram, and eventually the Sultans of Yogya and Surakarta. They were both links in the dynastic family trees and cultural links, as they adapted the old arts and traditions to the new Islamic reality.)

"Wali Songo" ada dinyatakan di dalam buku teks subjek Al Qur'an dan As Sunnah sekolah-sekolah di Malaysia. Mereka dipaparkan sebagai penyebar Islam di Jawa.

Peragut kat Malaysia ni kurang ajar!! Dah banyak kes, orang ramai tangkap peragut dan belasah sampai separuh mati.

Macam mana dia ragut telefon bimbit tu?
How was the situation when he snatched the mobile phone? In Malaysia now, lots of campaigns done to the public to educate people how to avoid being snatched.

Sebenarnya kalau kita berjaga-jaga, kita dapat menghindarinya.
Actually if we are a little bit careful, we can keep it from happen

Dont ever put your wallet, handphone on your rear pockets or put it on your waist

Put your wallet and handphone on you front pockets because:

1) Kamu boleh lihat siapa yang cuba mengambil barangan kamu
1) You can see the person who try to take your things

usually the snatch thieves are the drug addicts
(selalunya yang ragut tu adalah penagih dadah)

but there is one case (maybe there are many cases) that the snatch thief...snatched to be wealthy...he drives a mercedez

08/11: Shock waves over detention of Najib's close aide

By Leslie Lau
The Straits Times

POLITICAL and intellectual circles here are abuzz with talk of the detention of one of their own in an investigation into the death of a Mongolian woman.

Abdul Razak Baginda, who is in his 40s, is a close associate of Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak.

He set up the Malaysian Strategic Research Centre (MSRC) in 1993, a private think tank specialising in defence and strategic issues, when Datuk Seri Najib was first appointed Malaysian Defence Minister.

He is said to be in the inner circle of Datuk Seri Najib's supporters and aides and has been frequently quoted in Malaysian and international publications.

'I am in shock. I do not know why he has been arrested and how he can be involved,' said a close associate of Mr Abdul Razak, who declined to be named.

Mr Abdul Razak is well-known not just in Malaysia but also among the region's many research organisations for his moderate views on politics and security issues.

Actually my Bangali is not very good (rather poor), however I do see some similarities of Bangladeshi and Malaysian word.

It's ok as long as there are translations ... at least others could understand. :p

Yea this is a correct translation... from the viewpoint of a Kenyan!! :offended:

Amatlah saya besetuju* dengan kenyataan ini
Literally: Strongly agreed I am with this statement
Figuratively: I strongly agree with this statement

Amatlah = Strongly, totally, most
Saya = I
Bersetuju = Agreed (Ber+, setuju = agree)
Dengan = with
Kenyataan = statement
Ini = this

*You did a typo here, should be "bersetuju" (ber + setuju) and not "besetuju" (be + setuju)

At least this thread has gone 17 pages compared to the Spanish language thread's 14. Don't worry maybe some of us do not post here but we're still reading it. I visit here occassionally.*

*for people who feel up to the challenge of translating this because I'm quite lazy at the moment.
