Well, part one of my story is in the revert stories thread, and when part two is coming is anybody's guess. It will probably happen when I'm bored enough to write something that long!

For some strange reason the 'revert thread' is in the comparative religion section ... perhaps that's why you didn't find it.
Look here

Hi Jayda
Did we meet in the chat room yesterday? :)
As to why non-Muslims come here, check out this thread:
http://www.islamicboard.com/comparat...27925-why.html
This is why I am here:
I can sum up my reasons for being here as such:
* To learn that Islam isn't all that bad!
* To show that Christianity isn't all that bad!
Anyway, why are
you here? :)
God bless.

Hola Al-Mu'minah!
i love it because it is a different way of thinking about the same things i think about... i love how they believe all life is connected and their belief in a sort of all pervading God... i think the most fascinating thing is the level of depth in their beliefs... there is always something else for you to ask about and grow in.
yes i finished reading the koran a little while ago... lol im pregnant... all i do is stay at home and read it seems

For me the their religion is very complex. Can't comprehend some aspects e.g multiplies of God.
What was your conclusion of the Quran if you have come to that stage?

well... i think i know a lot more about islam than i did before. the content of the koran surprised me since it wasnt about what i thought it would be about... in reinforced some of the things i thought before and it dispelled other things... there is a lot i disagree with but also many things i agree with and i dont know if i understand everything so i ask if i dont...

I didn't mean it like that. I mean, I wasn't implying that Hindu's are
not friendly people! :giggling:
It's just that some forums (especially religious ones) can get a bit heated and negative at times ...
peace :)

My own views on us Reverts. This is not a scientific study and is just based on myself and people I know.
Most of the Reverts I know came from Christianity. They considered themselves very strong "Born Again" Christians. Had a strong desire to spread Christianity. Felt a need and drive to spread Christianity to Muslims and while in the prosses of trying to convert Muslims, discovered that Islam was the truth and reverted.
The second group and next to largest that I am aware us are people who were basically agnostic. Many of us claimed alliance with some type of religion. Most of us had been Christian at one time. We became disillusioned with organised religion but had a strong love for God(swt). Most of us were scholastic and had or were studying things like comparative religions and/or languages. We had no desire to revert to Islam and had not been influenced by any person. Our reversions seem to come very rapid and with a sudden feeling of the presence of Allah(swt) and almost instantly we know we have returned home.
