Brother, its the night of 15th Shaban.
Most of the muslims think its a night which should be celebrated as it carries much reward. And they also think that lots of Ibadah should be done to gain Allah's Pleasure. Therefore they fast, pray nafl etc

But the fact is that doing all this stuff is an innovation.

Have a look at the link below......it is by Dr.Zakir Naik.

that happened to me too, one day i fasted on a thursday and then i remembered Muhammad(salAllahu aleyhi waslaam) saying that '' the best fasting was that of Dawud, because he used to fast day on and off and then he blessed be his soul said '' but if you can not then just fast every three'' so i fasted on a thursday not knowing it was a thursday, and then i resorted to what SalAllahu aleyhi wasalam said to '' fast one day after every three days'' then so three days after thursday makes munday i fasted on a monday, then when i was fasting i heard my mother say that SalAllahu aleyhi wasalam used to fast mondays and thursdays! and i didnt even know Wallahi, Asalamu 'Ala muhammad sallahu aleyhi wasalam he said so perfectly ...like 1400 years ago so that i would fast how he fasted while i did not even know it !(coinidence? i THINK NOT! al hamdulilahi Rabi al alameen perfect destiny!

This is from Mazed:

There are at least two or three authentic Ahadith, classified as Sahih
or Hasan by the Traditionalists, which establish the virtue of the night
of 15th Sha'ban (17). The Companion Muadh b. Jabal (May Allaah be
Pleased with Him) relates that the Prophet (Sallalahu Alaihi Was )
said: "Allaah Ta'ala looks at his creation during the night of the 15th
of Sha'ban and He forgives all his creation except a polytheist
(mushrik) or one intent on hatred (mushahnin)"(18). Ibn Hibban (May
Allaah have mercy on him) considered this Hadith to be Sahih, (19) and
Ibn Hajr Al-Haytami (May Allaah have mercy on him) said: "This Hadith is
related by Al-Tabarani (May Allaah have mercy on him) in Al-Mu'jam
Al-Kabir and Al-Awsat and the narrators of both are trustworthy"
(thiqat) (20).

Shuayb Al-Arna'uat and Nasiruddin Al-Albani, (May Allaah
have mercy on them), two prominent contemporary Hadith scholars, have
also considered this Hadith as 'Sahih'(21).
