Thank you.
The heron was easy to take a shot off. Just sitting on the other side of the canal, when I went for a walk yesterday.
The bank vole and the robin were taken from a bird hide in the winter. In fact, I think hubby took them. He has more patience than I do! :uhwhat
I guess animals are around us all the time. It's just a case of being mindful enough to notice them, and still enough for them not to notice you! :nervous:

Well, to a country hick from Mississippi they do have a resemblance. Seriously, though I liked the picture. I reminds me of a picture I made a long time ago of a chipmunk.

It was taken a couple of winters back and I can't quite remember, Mustafa. I don't think it was foggy, but it was taken by the canal side and exceptionally cold at the time.
So yes, I think it is the moisture from the air freezing wherever it lands.
The crystals were very delicate and soon melted in the sunlight.

Aaaaaaah sis bluebell, that Apple tart looks so YUMMO! and chocolate :3 I'm a chocoholic. I'd say goes hand in hand with coffee, however, unfortunately for me, I got to a point where I was downing about 3-4 grandes a day :3 and everyone knew me for having a cup of coffee in my hand any moment i was seen ;D I decided to quit about 2 months ago, and been clean since, Alhamdullilah.
So, How about some nice masala chai made from scratch instead? to go along with those yummy sweets :3
I just loooooove spices. That's the best part when making this tea...and all teh benefits they have. Alhamdullilah.

Ur as sweet as them chocolate cupcakes ukhti! lol :statisfie
Oh yeshhhhhhhh! That's how I made mine too. Always fresh organic beans, would grind for every cup, and I used to press until I broke my press, went through a few of those. I was going to grow my own beans and roast them, but then I quit. I don't think you'd go crazy if you quit honestly, if I could do it, so can u. U just gotta want to looooooool. I did it reluctantly, but I had issues with stimulants, in between coffee I had energy drinks so yeah, i was always wired. It may not be ur case but for me, I could have done severe damage had i kept going!! I will eventually have me a nice cup again, but not so soon after quitting or I'll go right back. For now, I take my coffee makings kills to my tea, I hand grind everything, and very peculiar about how I make it.

believe it or not the darker the roast (which is how I prefer it) the less caffeinated- it loses its properties in the roasting. Yes I have had the severe SVT's but so what lol.. It's one of those few pleasures that one can call their own.. but ma shaa Allah you grew your own that's amazing.. I grind them fresh everyday too.. I like it to release the oils freshly.. I am very particular about it that I rarely ever drink or eat outside.. not just a matter of taste but hygiene.. I feel like people are filthy, don't wash things properly.. don't what they've handled or how not sure how long their oils have been lingering or whether or not they washed their hands after they peed.. so wow growing your own would be really ideal... I'd like to grow things but don't have a green thumb unfortunately and more of a sea than green person although combining the two would be paradise..

Elvis Presley was perhaps the most famous person from Mississippi. His mansion, Graceland, in Memphis is open for public tours. This is a reminder that no matter how rich and famous we are, that all of us will one day die as he did at the age of 42.

I love collecting watches.
I love collecting perfumes not watches.. If I find something I like, I usually spend the money on it and don't betray the bond I develop with it
I have another one which my parents bought me for my high school graduation.. Never wear it.. was very expensive (alot more feminine) they change the battery yearly and I think they shouldn't bother.
p.s Yes seiko kinetic arcatura

nice stuff.
yea by bored I meant buying new watches , of course the old ones go into the collection box and beautify the wrist from time to time.

I haven't desired another simply because this one is efficient and I put the whole battery thing out of my mind -I think it's neat that it runs on me. Maybe you'll opt for one next they've cool ones with black titanium or ion steel .. I do everything with them on and it hasn't caused me allergies which is rare .. But I digress...

I didn't see the picture of a watch. My parents also bought me a watch for graduation - a Bulova kinetic. I am sure it was way too expensive for them to buy and hate that I don't still have it. I don't even remember where it went, but that was more than a few years ago.

I had posted a pic of the sunburn at the junction of the watch where there's a stark demarcation but felt it was grotesque so removed it as to not offend sensibilities
Kinetic watches are expensive because the generator to supply the power charge is difficult and expensive to make so it will reflect in the overall price plus will cost you the same to repair so they make them well to avoid a repair.. Your parents were awesome.. I'd cherish that gift.. :w:

There was this massive tree on my road, when i was a kid, I used to think it reminded me of my Grandad... it was big, strong and looked wise,
2 years ago, when I was walking home one early evening, I took a very nice pic of it, from my mobile phone. The mobile had a decent cam on it so I saved the pic as my wallpaper and even had it on my facebook (when I still had facebook). It was a lovely shot of the silhouetted tree against some electric wires and a startling azure blue sky, and you could see a star in the distance, amazing I tell you. The three was still magnificent...
...Last year, one day I left my house in the morning, and the tree was gone. And the whole road looked embarrassed and naked... that's how it felt. That tree was the ornament of the whole street. There are other trees, on my road, but not like that one... sad sad sad. Now they planted a new tree in it's place and it's kinda nice seeing the cycle of life being renewed... and I wonder if children from future generations will look at that tree when it grows nice and big and think "... grandad"...

Great comparison. Trees always look wise, old, knowledgable, like they've seen too much of the Earth. Allaah has put in abundance of beauty in all creations, it's truly astounding.

Yes, I shared a few thoughts and experiences from my 2010 hajj. There was a rare thunderstorm on the last day of hajj when I was in Masjid Al-Haram during asr salah. I remember thinking how symbolic that like the rain washes away dirt from the street, the hajj washed away the sins of people.

well this was better and better.. How do I upload a video do you know?
Behind me were niqabbis ma shaa Allah.. of course no one wanted to sit next to them lest they God forbid catch the niqaab lol.. no one bothered the orthodox Jews (they're pious and only practicing their religion) but the Niqabbi and her husband and four beautiful children were sitting with a row behind them and in front of them empty so we sat there =) and it made the heat tolerable to see them al7mdullilah.. really made my day to see them..

Those were nice pictures of Toronto. Were they taken from a small airplane or helicopter?

Oh no, the pictures were taken from top of the CN tower. I wish they were taken from an airplane or helicopter, that would be kinda cool!

jazaki Allah khyran ukhty if you can believe that today is the first day since February that I've looked out that window.. Was going through such a deep depression that I'd deny myself even saying sobhan Allah ma shaa Allah.. It's a shame but I have car shades the ones that completely block the sun up so I wouldn't feel life going on without me.

back when I used to listen to music I used to love 'Morning has broken' by cat Steven/yusuf islam..
there is something amazing about the birth of a new day... dark gravid clouds pierced by light but not quite espoused ... such beauty- behold our sight and banish all grief and even that appreciation is an act of worship ...
if I can live secluded surrounded only by nature and not have to deal with all the other crap or all the losses I'd be so content but then I guess it would be paradise not earth ...

“Seek refuge in the land of your conscience
For it is marked by no imminent drought,
It capsizes the humming boats of pretense
And builds on what is honestly sought;
The dead linger in their grave pots
They breathe from where the blindness starts,
An eye for some glitter, an ear for some noise
When the hearts are sold against a vague choice;
I ask, O Allah, to guard me
Against the darkness when eyes can't see...”
- When eyes cannot see, by Ashfaq Saraf
I love watching Sunrises and Sunsets, as my avatar can testify. It is beauty at its peak, and thanks to Allah for letting us see it.

guess he was always inclined to believe even before his conversion to Islam:
Morning has broken, like the first morning Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird Praise for the singing, praise for the morning Praise for the springing fresh from the word Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven Like the first dewfall, on the first grass Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden Sprung in completeness where his feet pass Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning Born of the one light, Eden saw play Praise with elation, praise every morning God's recreation of the new day

Quite fitting with Skye's quote, I went for a walk this morning to greet the rising sun. Sunrise was at 5.12.
After waiting in the mellow dawn light for a while, it was a surprisingly joyful moment when the sun actually rose over the horizon.
The most ordinary thing in the world became the most amazing moment!
I probably didn't use the best setting for the dawn light. If I do a dawn walk again, I will make sure I have worked out the camera settings beforehand!

The pictures are amazing, praise be to God :D

Having watched the sunrise a few days ago, I went to see the sunset today.
While I was sitting there quietly, a little mouse was scuttling through the high grass, just by my feet. I never got to see it fully - only brief glimpses and the movement of the grass ... and little squeaking noises. :)

This Is A picnic spot in Kashmir called Kokernag. I clicked it last year...
Does It not look like the yellow pansy is trying to peep into the camera from behind the purple one?
Forgive me for the bad quality of photos as I have clicked them from my phone.

Sitting down to break fast with extended family at a restaurant
This is the day that followed what I believed to have been laylat Al Qadr so I photographed the sun the next day.. what do you think? this was the 29th
Al Husain right after maghrib
khan el khalili bazaar
Mango Ice cream at 'Al Malki open restaurant at Husain.. shop owners fought over us because one shop thought the other was stealing his customers, this was in the last ten of Ramadan .. It was disappointing along with other things I'll refrain from commenting on.
Nubian farm life I guess.. in really freaky statues :p
Al Azhar university the oldest in the world to the left of that car
Men praying taraweeh on the plane
in flight tracker on my seat
The plane we boarded, I especially liked the bug on the window :D
upon arrival to Egypt
The Citadel and surrounding fortress
I had that swiss roll on the bottom
at city stars
waiting for maghrib in my room there
my niece enjoying some massive choco milk shake
my mom's tastless green tea
my mint lemonade

Assalamu alaikum, Ukhti. Kinda corny that I would mention a bug - but I couldn't help myself after reading your comment. Seriously though, these are some fabulous pictures, mash'Allah. I hope you had a great eid and that you have recovered from your illness.
My wife and I went to Lubbock, TX for the last Jumu'ah of Ramadan, an iftar and for the Eid. We then went to the Taos, NM for a couple of days. Insh'Allah, I will post pictures later as well.

Allah knows best my ukthi.
Hope you are feeling well and have recovered from your illness, insha Allah.
No need to feel bad.....Allah (subhanawataála) has exempted the one who is sick from the fast (which can be made up later), and He is closest to the one who is ailing.
^ Insha Allah, it is here, when He is so close to you, that He may have even answered all your duaas!
So, look at the postive! : )

al7mdullilah.. it wasn't my decision anyway to the last point where I was conscious and asked to be taken to the hospital until I completely passed out I was fasting.. whatever they did afterwards I didn't agree to, although I was very upset about.. al7mdullilah 3la kul 7al.. have quite a few days to fast this month, six of shawaal plus what I naturally owe plus that one day...
We used to break our fast there around 6:30 over here it is almost around 8

Sob7an Allah ukhty.. in shaa Allah, Allah swt will yataqabal your du3a and raise you up in ranks.. I think that's why we should all make du3a for each other inevitably one of us is bound to be sick or not make maximal effort on a day that could have potentially fallen on Laylat Al Qadr..
at any rate Allah Sob7ano wa'ta3ala is ra'of ra7eem.. so in shaa Allah he'll accept our du3a and repentance..
ameen ya rabb..

Allah is the Most Wise, Most Merciful and Best of Planners. In Sha'a Allah, you had the intent to fast so you still get the Ajr. and then you get even more when you make up they day. it's kind of like getting a bonus! being patient with your inconveniences gave you even more Ajr to boot, In Sha'a Allah.
pain, suffering and bad health may seem like a bad thing to non-believers, but Alhamdulillah, we are Muslims. these things may appear "awful" to others, but for us they are a Blessing because we know the truth. these things help erase our sins and are of more benefit to us on the Day of Qiyama than winning a million lotteries, In Sha'a Allah!
May Allah reward you, and us, abundantly!
