Another person here that loves this picture Guyabano posted:
It reminds me very much of the scenery in the northern part of Connecticut. I grew up very close to Barkhamstead in Connecticut here is a Picture of Barkhamstead:
Quiet peaceful lakes and ponds are designed to bring us peace of mind.
Here is one in Lithuania my Parents grew up near. This is Traika Castle near Vilnius I didn't take this picture but it is beautiful.

this was made by taking pictures of smoke burning off an incense stick, and then digitally adding colour to it.

It was a couple of weeks ago.
The snow didn't last, Karina ... just winter's last attempt to flex its weakening muscles ...
I'll be posting pictures of our vegetable seedlings in a couple of days.

That reminds me of the view of when of when I was in Sharjah, I went there about a month ago and stayed at my uncles house. Who happened to live next to Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi's son which was awesome, becuase his house wasn't really a house it was more like a massive fort lol :D
What masjid is that in the background, looks nice?
I'll post a picture of a macro water drop (looks amazing) later on, its still on my camera at the moment :)

I believe he says he is in Quebec, Canada. There is snow on the ground in April and May there.
My wife is currently on her way from Rapid City, South Dakota to Faith, South Dakota, and she has been running into snow. That is considerably south of Quebec.

I never cease to be amased at the abundance of beauty Allaah(swt) has given us to enjoy in nature. we are so blessed with beauty and one of our greatest gifts is the ability to see beauty in the simple things around us.
The simple beauty of dandelions growing down the center strip of a dirt driveway.
Unexpected flowers in with the weeds
A secluded path through the forest
A clump of birch trees
The sight of early spring buds on a tree
A tall tree silohetted against a morning sky
Allaah(swt) has given us so much when we were given a sense of beauty in nature and the ability to love His creations.

Even the symmetry of a weed popping up in the lawn has beauty.
Young maple leaves just begining to unfold
wild strwberries popping up through the thatch with their promise of delicacies later in the year.
Allaah(swt) has given us beauty in all of our lives, we only need to look for it.

Just a silly snapping turtle Aaabidah and I found walking down a highway yesterday. we moved her to a marsh so she wouldn't get squashed. she was trying to bite my leg in this pict.
Here is another pict of when we first set her on the edge of the marsh.
The first thing the ungrateful hussy did was try to bite my leg, when I set her on the ground.

Seems like a good day to post natural phenomenon related pictures today.
I got this one last summer, obviously a bit of a suprise considering I was aiming behind the bolt
From the Orionid meteor shower last December. Meteors are tough and my first attempt netted me that tiny one on the left but at least it was right next to Orion :)

The whole region is beautiful, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The states look very similar and are very rural with few cities.
I am uploading about 700 more pictures onto the album. But I am on a slow connection and it will take about 12 more hours.

Here are some picts I took last week in south Dakota. We were returning to Minnesota from Faith, SD where most of our horses still are. the pics are of Faith and going through the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation, which begins near Faith. Sadly it got too dark before we got to the best scenery on the Rez. But, we pass through there about once a week so I will get some better ones Inshallah
Here in the distance is the gigantic Faith, SD airport
You can see the whole album here 114 pictures

Thank you. You know, I never even thought of sending it in, it was such a frustrating night from about 1 am to 5 am of watching all these great meteors streak by but nothing in my camera lens, always the wrong place at the right time. I will be taking another wider angle lens out with me the next time I do this with hopefully much better results.

Flew the family to Washington D.C. last week for vacation, what a great time had by all. None of my six chldren had flown before so I think that was half the fun watching their reactions. D.C. was very warm but tolerable. The city was as nice as I remember it from the late 90's but security now is ridiculous compared to 10 years ago.
Was able to get in and have a nice sit down meeting with our congressman while we were there. He had helped us out with a situation a few years back and wanted to personally thank him, I just never thought my first time in a congressman's office would also involve six kids making a bunch of noise though :)
Even if you are not a fan of government so much, as in my case, the sheer number of museums and memorials is enough to consume over a week of your time. Highly recommended trip.
It is also a very photogenic city. Cameras are allowed in most everything, with only a few exceptions, like the Gallery of Congress. I will post a few up here.

Thank you and no, we did not get through the Library of Congress, although we did walk by it on our way to Union Station for lunch :D
We scheduled 5 days in D.C. but it still wasn't enough to hit everything we wanted to. There was a full Library tour available but your Congressman needed to seek approval for you to get it, just like the Capitol building.

Yes, it is in Canon's pro line. I picked it up last March before I photographed an assignment here in Milwaukee. Big and heavy but it's quality is tough to beat.
Great shots can be made with small cameras as well, it is all about composition.

Thanks and yeah, not entirely too cheap. The 1DsMKIII version is going for arounf $8000 new right now, I got the MKII version for far less than that but still was pretty expensive. But getting paid to do weddings, families and events justifies the cost and pays for it to :statisfie

As some of you may have heard on the news, we have had to contend with some flooding around this part of the U.S.. The pics below are from earlier in the month when we received THREE times our monthly average in rain in only three days. A small river runs near our home and quickly over ran the road.
We were fine here, aside form some water in the basement but nothing major. Many people are not quite so fortunate and have lost their homes and their livelihoods. Inshallah may all those affected be able to start over.

That cat could hear a pin drop a mile away with ears like that. I love cats but my son is highly allergic to them.

Dingo does have the run of the house most of the time. While we are eating he has his own kennel in the house where we will put him or when company comes over. Otherwise he is free to go where he wants. If someone rings the door bell or comes to the door he is like an instant security system, very handy at keeping salespeople away as he sounds like he is going to tear you apart but he wouldn't hurt a fly.
We also have a 4lb Malkie or Morkie (hybrid of a Maltese and a Yorkie), depending on which you want to call it named "Gigitty". We JUST got him a week or so ago. Dingo needed a playmate but we certainly did not want another 70lb clown.

THat's a nice pic but Bro Mke I have read that where dogs live ...angels don't enter which is why I asked that question ...Dogs are allowed in regards to be guards, and other purposes like herding.. but they aren't supposed to enter the house..Sorry I just feel that I had to point it out..I will look for the references if you want or I can ask some brothers or sisters on this forum to give some sources

You make a very good point and something that I have discussed with other's including a very good PM conversation with another board member.
One popular point with reverts like myself is the role of pets. Now in our we have had Dingo for 4 years now and he is an excellent guardian to our home and my children. He is also very good at herding the kids in the yard :D
Now the little guy is another story. My wife is not a revert and therefore does not exactly prescribe to the same rules that I follow. She started to get the "baby urge". Well, we have six children, we do not exactly have the room nor the ability (not too many 9 pass vehicles out there that are not a bus) so she said she would be content with something to hold, something little to take care of. Well a cat is out of the question since my youngest son is deathly allergic to them. So she said a small dog would do. I explained that this was out of the question.
Well a month goes by and things are not any better and I was constantly hearing about it so I relented but only with the stipulation that he was not my responsibilty and she was completely in charge of his care.
It was a very difficult set of circumstances that I had to deal with and I believe I made the best possible decision considering all those circumstances.
Thats the not so short version it looks like.

I finaly took some pics of Elk. Although the pic isn't very clear. This is a herd of several hundred elk. those towards the front are cows and calves. back in the wooded section are the bulls and young cows.
I did cheat, I took the pic at an elk farm not far from me. Although there are many wild elk here, I have yet to have my camera with me when I see them.

let me tell a story through pictooores :D
once upon a time, made plans to go thorpe park!
cruisin around ing-la-andd
got lost :muddlehea
had to turn the car round in a hindu temple car park!!
decided to abandon the cars, and use good old transport :D
finally got there!!
thought it was totally crap:p the park is smaller then a your whole streets back gardens put together!! too much queues for rides, and you queue for like 1 hour and the ride only lasts 20 secs
butt atleast i made a friend :D
mr sharky :D
my advice... dont go thorpe park! its a mission to get to, and its crap :mmokay: go alton towers or chessington, or any gypsy funfair in your local park :D
