Things like this could happen everyday in the U.S and they'll never change any laws towards gun ownership in congress, cos the national rifle association are very poweful. They're one of the largest, wealthest and influencial lobbying orgainasation in U.S.

At least, that's what a parent's group is bound to say at some point, even if it doesn't make sense. God forbid it's because guns are relatively easy to get your hands on in the States (as opposed to the UK's stringent gun laws)
