The Price of Salvation

The third pillar of Islam - Zakat - is an obligation upon the believers reminding them to look after the affairs of our destitute and needy. If the zakat were paid properly, then poverty would cease to exist and if it is withheld - then rain would cease to fall.

In The Price of Salvation: All about Zakat - you will learn about:

The importance of this type of obligation - both spiritually as well as materialistically.
The types of people upon whom Zakat is obligatory. Is Zakat obligatory on communal charities, non-profit dawah organizations? Upon children or upon the mad? Does having a mortgage mean you don't have to pay Zakat? Find out answers to this and more.
The essential principles upon which Zakat is based.
The classification of wealth in Islam and the various Zakat dues on them.
Modern wealth and Zakat on them - such as shares and bonds, investment properties, businesses of various types. What is the Zakat on Telstra shares with the knowledge that it has numerous lines of business? How do you work out Zakat in different currencies? How do you work out Zakat in complex businesses? On pre-tax or Post-tax profit? Is there Zakat on GST? These questions and more will all be answered.
Who to pay and when? Can Zakat be paid by credit card? Can you give Zakat to the Cancer foundation or Royal Children's hospital? What is better, to keep the zakat here or send it overseas? Can Zakat be given to dawah websites? Can Zakat be given to muslim civil rights groups working to safeguard Muslim rights in the West? Can Zakat be given to political parties to lobby them for a Muslim cause?! These amazing questions and more will all be answered in this course.
The Price of Salvation will be taught using case based teaching strategies with so many practical examples that you will come out of the lessons qualified to deal with the most common of practical zakat problems.

Who is this course for?

If you are not confident answering the questions posed above, then this course is for you. It is for:

All Muslims who have some wealth upon which Zakat is due - and that is practically every one of us
On those responsible for maintaining the wealth of others
