The Duck & The Devil

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm.
He was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods. He
Practiced in the woods, but he could never hit the target. Getting
A little discouraged, he headed back for dinner. As he was
Walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck.

Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck
Square in the head, and killed it. He was shocked and grieved.

In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile, only to see
His sister watching! Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.

After lunch the next day Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the
Dishes." But Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in
The kitchen." Then she whispered to him, "Remember the duck?" So
Johnny did the dishes.

Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go
Fishing and Grandma said, "I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make
Supper." Sally just smiled and said," Well that's all right because Johnny told Me he wanted to help." She whispered again, "Remember the duck?" So Sally Went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.

After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's,
He finally couldn't stand it any longer. He came to Grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck. Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug, and said, "Sweetheart, I know. You see, I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing, but because I love you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how long

You would let Sally make a slave of you."

Thought for the day and every day thereafter?
Whatever is in your past, whatever you have done... And the devil
Keeps throwing it up in your face (lying, cheating, debt, fear, bad
Habits, hatred, anger, bitterness, etc.) ....whatever it is....You need to know that God was standing at the window and He saw the whole thing..... He has seen your whole life. He wants you to know that He loves you and that you are forgiven .

He's just wondering how long you will let the devil make a slave
Of you. The great thing about God is that when you ask for forgiveness, He Not only forgives you, but He forgets . It is by God's grace and
Mercy that we are saved.

God is at the window.

Sometimes a thread that touches people the most gets the least responses. Every now and then something is posted that has no need for debate or criticism and somehow it seems to be so touching that a reader does not want to risk taking from the post, so we decide the best option is to let it stand on it's own.

This thread has been getting readers and I am certain it will get more.

This is one of those threads. I doubt if any of us can add to it and any words will only take away from the post.

Jazallahu Khair for sharing with us.

Its because of the message, otherwise the sisters would never stab their brother. :-[

it was beautitful. I even was considering posting this in a different forum. but i first decided google search where the article came from.

is this from a christian site?

I reread the article again to see if there is anything wrong with it. the following lines bother me

"God was standing at the window"

"He's just wondering how long you will let the devil make a slave of you."

"He not only forgives you, but He forgets"

Are we allowed to give such human charactersitics about God?Like say God is standing. God is wondering.? God forgets?

Sorry i don't mean to be picky or ruin this thread. Honestly it's beautiful. But i wonder if what i said,,,,, is an issue?

That may be a problem for people that do not speak English as a first language. Most people who speak English as a first language would take that as an analogy or metaphor to illustrate that Allah(swt) Sees and knows all, so that no matter what the boy had done and how well it was hidden it did not matter, because Allah(swt) knows and it can not be hidden from Him.

A beautiful analogy of Asma'ul Husna (99 Allah's natures). Jazakallah khayr for the touching story:).

Thanks also @Woodrow, I've posted a touching poet (I think,I'm not the one who made it), but there's only one reply" :P

I'm touched...I'm going to spread it

We cant pretend to know who the Jinn are and what there role or actions are in relation to us. We have no proof that an insane human isn't inflicted by his own madness or a blant liar is nothing more then that a liar! To blame our own misdeeds and our own shortcomings is proof that man is still naive.

For a person who has a sensitive sensibility as me I wasn't touched, ive seen far sadder and pitfull things then this, and this just wasn't at that level
