View Full Version : Not funny at all... :(

Assalamu'Alaykum

FUNNY

-Funny how a $20 bill looks so big when you take it to Masjid, but so
small when you take it to the mall.

-Funny how long it takes to do Zikr for an hour, but how quickly a team plays 60
minutes of basketball.

-Funny how long a couple of hours spent at Masjid are, but how short
they are when watching a movie.

-Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray, but don't
have difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend.

-Funny how we get thrilled when a baseball game goes into extra
innings, but we complain when a "Tarawe7" during Ramadhan is longer
than the regular time.

-Funny how hard it is to read a Juz in the Quran, but how easy it is
to read 100 pages of a best selling novel.

-Funny how people want to get a front seat at any game or concert, but
scramble to get a back row at Masjid so that scramble out.

-Funny how we need 2 or 3 weeks advance notice to fit a Masjid event
into our schedule, but can adjust our schedule for other events at the
last moment.

-Funny how hard it is for people learn a simple Preaching well enough
to tell others, but how simple it is for the same people to understand
and repeat gossip.

-Funny how we believe what the newspaper says, but question what the
Quran says.

-Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to
believe, or to think, or to say, or do anything.

-Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like
wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding Allah, people think
twice about sharing.

FUNNY, ISN'T IT?

Are you laughing?

Are you thinking?

"بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم"

:salaam:

Im new here, thought i should try registering in an english (foreign to me) forum about islam to see the differences,, i havent seen much yet, but i got a good first impression :D
I just want to say how proud and tremendously envious i am (in a good way of course :p ) of those who were led by Allah :arabic4: with their hearts, souls, minds, and desires to islam while they've been at that time living their lives to the fullest as non-muslims or agnostics.
Sobhan Allah really....
and im really enriched with faith and hope that this islamic establishment and all other sites and forums related to islam will (God Willing) enlight the true path to Allah and heaven for many humans who have fallen in the dark well of sins and misdeeds.
and to those who were born as muslims: Mashallah! ;) i pray Allah to keep u on the right track and be a cause for the greater good.

anyway, heres a couple of reminders of how people are behaving nowadays regarding life and islamic duties. :'(

Was sent to me via e-mail....read a little bit but thought I'd share the rest of it with you.
Sorry, mods.....if its in the wrong place :)

Rasulullah S.A.W. said "Jannat lies under the feet of your mother"
Rasulullah S.A.W. said "if you read the kalima with conviction just once...Jannah becomes upon you

Rasulullah S.A.W. said "a women who reveals her body or even wears tight
fitting clothes while dressing....wont come within 500 years of the smell of Jannah

Rasulullah S.A.W. said "the dust which settles on a man while he
is out in the path of Allah...not only the fire, but the smoke of Jahannam is haraam for those parts of the body.

Rasulullah S.A.W. said "I only curse 3 types of people:

1) those people who do not look after their parents when they are in old age.
2) those people who do not take full advantage of the blessed month of Ramadhan.

3) those people who don not say Salallahu -Alayhay-

Wa-Aalahay- Wasallam when my name is mentioned.

Rasulullah S.A.W said "an intelligent person is one who is constantly thinking about and preparing for death"

Rasulullah S.A.W. said "It is better for a man that a steel nail be driven through the centre of his head....rather than if he touches the palm of a strange women"

PLEASE TAKE 2 MINUTES OF YOUR TIME TO READ THIS.
Imagine this happening to you.
One day during Jummah salah, a 1,000 member congregation was surprised to see two men enter, both covered from head to toe in black and carrying sub-machine guns. One of the men proclaimed, "Anyone willing to take a bullet for Allah remain where you are." Immediately, the congregation fled, and out of the 1,000 there only remained around 20. The man who had spoken took off his hood, looked at the Imaam and said "Okay Maulana, I got rid of all the hypocrites. Now you may begin your sermon, and the two men turned and walked out.

Allah on Friday but be an invisible Muslim the rest of the week. Are you laughing?

This is another one that someone sent:

Shuel Ahmed wrote:
Why a nun can be covered from head to toe and she's respected
for devoting herself to God, but then a Muslim woman does that, she's considered "oppressed"?

Why a Jew can grow a beard and he's just practicing his faith, and when a Muslim does that, he's an extremist?

When a western woman stays at home to look after the house and kids she is sacrificing herself and doing good for the household, but when a Muslim woman does so, she "needs to be liberated"?

Why is it that when a child dedicates himself to a subject, hehas potential, and when a child dedicates himself to Islam, he is hopeless?

When a Christian kills someone, religion is not mentioned, (i.e. Ireland and the IRA) but when a Muslim is charged with a crime, it's Islam that goes to trial?

But then again, why is it after all that, Islam is still the fastest growing religion in the world?

Take 60 seconds and give this a shot! Let's just see if Satan stops this one.

All you do is:
1. Say:

a- Subhaan-Allah
b- Alhamdu-Lillah
c- Allaahu-Akbar
d- Laa Ilaahallla-Allaahu -
Muhammad-ur-Rasoolullah
e- Allaahumma Sualli Alaa Sayyidina
>Muhammad-ew-wa
Alaa Aalihi wa>SahabihiWasallim

2. Then:
Send it on to five other people or more. Within hours, five people have prayed and you caused a multitude of people to pray to Allah, and

3. Then:
Sit back and watch the power of Allah work in your life for doing the thing that you know HE loves.

Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided

Funny how $10 looks so big when we take it to masjid and so small
when we take it to the store.

Funny how big an hour serving God looks and how small 60 mintues are when spent playing golf, fishing or playing soccer.

Funny how laborious it is to read a juzz in the Quran and how easy it is to read - 2-300 pages of a best selling novel.

Funny how we believe what newspapers say but question what the Quran says.

Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray and don't have any difficulty thinking of things to talk to a friend.

Funny how we need 2-3 weeks to fit an islamic event into our schedule, but can adjust it for a social event at the last moment.

Funny isn't it?

as-salamualaikum
an email message
* Funny how a $20 bill looks so big when you take it to the mosque, but so small when you take it to the market.

* Funny how long it takes to do Zikr (remember Allah) for an hour, but how quickly a team plays 60 minutes of basketball.
* Funny how long a couple of hours spent at the mosque are, but how short they are when watching a movie.

* Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray, but don't have difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend.

* Funny how we get thrilled when a baseball game goes into extra innings, but we complain when a "Tarawih" during Ramadhan is longer than the regular time.

* Funny how hard it is to read a chapter of the Holy Quran, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a best selling novel.

* Funny how people want to get a front seat at any game or concert, but scramble to get a back row at mosque so that they can scramble out fast.

* Funny how we need 2 or 3 weeks advance notice to fit a mosque event into our schedule, but can adjust our schedule for other events at the last moment.

* Funny how hard it is for people learn a simple preaching well enough to tell others, but how simple it is for the same people to understand and repeat gossip.

* Funny how we believe what the newspaper says, but question what the Quran says.

* Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, or to think, or to say, or do anything.

* Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding Allah, people think twice about sharing.

I actually enjoy reading the Quran as opposed to Novels that go nowhere but reveal a big "secret" that you could've figured out by reading the cover...but you make a great point.

-Funny how we get thrilled when a baseball game goes into extra
innings, but we complain when a "Tarahvi" during Ramadhan is longer
than the regular time.
They both depend on the level of "excitement" or "involvement," and I think its a matter of who is giving the speech; I've literally spent hours and endless all-nighters listening to some Imams and scholars.

-Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray, but don't have difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend.
There's only so much a man can hope for, and only so much he can complain about.

Isn't it strange how

Isn't it strange how Rs. 20/=
seems like such a large
amount when
you donate it , but
such a small amount
when you go shopping?

Isn't it strange how 2 hours
seem so long when
you're at place of worship, and how
short they seem when you're
watching a good movie?

Isn't it strange that you can't
find a word to say when
you're praying,
but you have no trouble
thinking what to talk about
with a friend?

Isn't it strange how difficult
and boring it is to read
one chapter
of the Quran , but how easy
it is to read 100 pages of
a popular novel?

Isn't it strange how everyone
wants front-row-tickets
to concerts or
games, but they do whatever
is possible to sit at the last
row in a holy place?

Isn't it strange how difficult it
is to learn a fact about
God to share it
with others, but how easy
it is to learn, understand,
extend and repeat gossip?

Isn't it strange how everyone
wants a place in
heaven, but they don't want
to believe, do, or say anything
to get there?

And we can only fly while embracing each other."

Funny things about Muslims

Funny how a $100 'looks' so big when taken to mosque, but
so small when taken to the mall.

Funny how long it takes to pray 'TARAWEEH' for an hour,
but how quickly a team plays 90 minutes of soccer.

Funny how long a couple of hours spent at the mosque
seem, but how short they are when watching a movie.

Funny how people can't think of a 'DUA' to say when they
pray, but don't have difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a
friend.

Funny how people get thrilled when a football game goes
into extra time, but complain when a 'KHUTBAH' is longer than the
regular time.

Funny how hard it is to read an 'AIATH' in the holy
Quran, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a best selling novel.

Funny how people want to get a front seat at any game or
concert, but scramble to sit in the back of a mosque.

Funny how hard it is for people to learn the simple
shariah, well enough to tell others, but how simple it is for the
same people to understand and repeat gossip.

Funny how people believe what the newspaper says, but
question what is written in the Quran.

Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do
not have to believe, think, say or do anything.

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail
and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages
regarding Allah, people think twice about sharing.

hola,

i think, as a matter of politeness, it is not right to talk about people's faults. but at the same time it is not our responsibility or place to actively conceal them... that is deception. let each person's character be judged according to their own merits, and not upon the facades they construct for themselves or the facades we construct for them...

hola,

it is the other way around... i am catholic and he is protestant so we have different beliefs about the morality of wealth, i wish he would be more generous not only with Church but also with charities and other things... he believes that there is nothing sinful about wealth and he believes he gives 'enough' and the rest should be for the future of our family. we do not fight, per se, but it is a point of contention and he knows how i feel about it...

but no, it is not a joke, i truly believe that if people have more then they should give more. money is worthless in and of itself, its worth comes from what you do with it.

It is wrong to expose the fault of others, but in this case it wasn't talking about the faults of others. There weren't even any names.

Personally, I think this is a good article on muraqabah i.e. self-criticism. We should really read about how a good Muslim character chastise himself before others, in order better himself and to reach perfection that is demanded of him.
