We never get snow either. We only had hailstone once, and even that I slept through so I missed it.

Snow is rare in Texas. But I had my share of it in Connecticut, New york, Canada Labrador and Greenland.

We get hail in Texas too and it hurts.

That was up in the Amarillo area last Summer. We have had it larger. But, the size that guy is holding does happen periodically in the Amarillo area.

They are very big .Here the small sized hail can destroy completely the crops. I can't imagine what are doing those who get this egg shaped hails :X

It takes extremely strong upper level winds to keep them up long enough to become that big. Nearly always if you have hail bigger than a marble, it will be followed by a Tornado.

Tornado hunter flock to the Amarillo area for the chance of taking pictures of tornadoes, they are very common in the Texas Panhandle.

If I recall right these 2 were part of the same storm system and they occurred very close together.

No I did not take the pictures. They were taken by 2 different people. I can't remember if they were tornado chasers or professional meteorologists.

The pics were shown on the news.

It's snowing, today and freezing cold. But i don't know whether that is enough for schools to close. (Either way, i am not going in today)

EDIT: It's stopped snowing and the sun is shining. I guess i am going to have to go today. :(
