Holiday Season: An Islamic perspective & Bidah: The Hidden Sin

Holiday Season - An Islamic perspective
By: Kamal El Mekki

Each holiday season Muslims in the West are barraged with the holiday spirit, yet few understand the true nature of these holidays and fewer still manage to save their religion when approached by this fervor. This Lecture is a most important look at the history and refutations of common western Holidays, and provides the Islamic principles by which to judge all such events.

Bidah: The Hidden Sin

By: Sh. Waleed Basyouni

One of the most severe yet hidden sins in Islam is the act of committing Bidah. These sins are especially severe because in doing them one believes that one is involved in good righteous acts only to discover that on the day of akhira they will be viewed as sinful disobedience by Allah. It is for this reason that no Muslim should go without a thorough understanding of the issue of Bidah, and also know the common characteristics that can be used to recognize and act as such. This knowledge is appropriately addressed in this lecture in a very interesting story telling style.
