AsalamuAlaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
Do not try to run away from trials and tribulations, but endure them with
patience. They cannot be avioded, and there is nothing for it but to endure
them with patience, How can you expect the whole of this world, and all that has been created therein, to undergo change and transformation just to suit your convenience? The Prophets are the best of all creatures, yet they have always had to suffer afflication and so it is for their followers, those who tread in their footsteps as they walk along their highway, emulating their example.- Muhyuddin Abdul Qadir Jilani
Peace.

Abdul Qadir Jilani is one of the greatest shaikh to ever live, i believe he lived around 400 after hijrah, he was upon the quran and sunnah, he lived his life fearing Allah and devout to Islam.
Wallahi his life is an example, it is an inspiration! I encourage everyone to read up on him
NOTE: Many extremist sufi's have distorted his image however he is free of it, dont let the distortions fool you of this sheikhs beautiful character and knowledge!

ya sis most of the sites dat r gna name him are most likely to be bidaah sites lol, in pakistan ppl do weird ceremonies bout sufi saints, which r bidah and many times they fal into shirk. dats y i feel its best not to lik be too much into sufi saints, jus stick to sahaba ra, and anbiya (as) cos they d best:D
and its tru wot bro hakim sd, the ulama say he was a goody but ppl do bidah in his name n it makes him look bad:D

Ruwi i duno his bio! But if anyone finds it post it up inshaAllah,
"How marvellous is the affair of the believer!
Everything that happens to him is good,
and this does not apply to anyone except the believer.
If something good befalls him, he gives thanks for it, and that is good
If something for him.bad befalls him, he bears it with patience, and that is good for him."
Moral: Endure hardship with patience!
AsalamuAlaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Greetings and peace be with you, and thanks for posting these words of wisdom.
Here is an inspiring quote that may highlight your point, but I am not sure were it came from.
I asked for Strength.........
And Allah gave me Difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for Wisdom.........
And Allah gave me Problems to solve.
I asked for Prosperity.........
And Allah gave me Brain and Brawn to work.
I asked for Courage.........
And Allah gave me Danger to overcome.
I asked for Love.........
And Allah gave me Troubled people to help.
I asked for Favours.........
And Allah gave me Opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted
I received everything I needed
My Prayer has been answered.
In the spirit of praying for a greater interfaith undderstanding

Greetings and peace be with you north_malaysian;
I like it too, there are some messages in Islam that have a meaning to people of other faiths, and this is one that I often think of.:)
In the spirit of praying for a greater interfaith friendship
