Blessings and peace be with you samah12;
My problem today stems from being told repeatedly that I must not question, just accept.
I believe that you have to both question things and also accept some things, but how do you know what to question and what to accept.:) My thoughts are, just accept that God exists fully and totally, and just about everything else can be questioned.
I suppose being a scientist will keep you asking questions like---
By any chance do you know the answer to my question, did Jesus(pbuh) ever state himself that he was the son of God? If he did where can I find it in the bible?
You have asked this question in another thread and I will try and give you an answer here, I believe the other thread is becoming a trifle heated.
I fully believe that God exists, but this is only my belief; I have never found anyone who could prove beyond a doubt to an atheist that God exists. There have been several long threads on this forum that have tried and failed.
I fully believe that Jesus is Devine and one with God, he is the Son of God, these are my sincere beliefs from the way I interpret the Bible and how the Catholic Church teaches faith. But I have to keep using that word ‘belief’ there is no proof. Faith is all about putting your trust in what you believe despite all the conflict from other sources. Not very scientific !!
Allah chooses whom he wills, and we have the same message in Christianity; but it seems that he chooses whom he will in different ways.
The choice is yours if you are to seek a faith freely and willingly you need to choose a path. If you feel drawn towards Islam then you must sincerely seek the answers through Islam. We each seem on a journey that we need to follow with love for God and our neighbours who ever they may be. You seem to be doing this so well in Egypt. I think faith in God is reflected more by our actions then what we believe.
In a way I feel it would not be right to pick out individual passages in the Bible about Jesus that I know would be in conflict with your beliefs. I have a great respect for other religions even though I do not agree with their beliefs about God. I also seem to learn a lot about the message in Christianity from a different angle when I talk with people of other faiths.
Despite all our differences the same God hears all our prayers, we are somehow all brothers and sisters created by the same God
I may not have given you the answer you want but feel you need to follow the path that you are being led.
In the spirit of searching for answers
Eric
