"Whoever memorises and preserves forty ahadith for my people relating to their religion, Allah will resurrect him among the scholars and martyrs on the Last Day", words of the Prophet (saw).

and thus this thread.

its very similar to the 'find the Qur'anic verse' thread, except here, you post bits of an ahadith. the person that gives the first bit of the hadith also gives the meaning of the ahadith. the second person completes the hadith and also includes any notes that they think is relevant (optional). the sources of the hadith should be mentioned.

first hadith:

buniyyal islaamu 3ala khamsin...

Islam is built on five pillars:
  • bearing witnss that there is no Go but Allah, and that Muhammad is His Messenger,
  • establishing prayer,
  • paying the zakat/charity
  • making the pilgrimage to the House, and
  • fasting in Ramadan.
If you're wondering about the title of this thread; i used the title because this is one way we can rach one of the topmost positions on the Day of Judgement; although people should not misunderstand and think that this is enough; ofcourse we have to complete other obligations first.

It has been transmitted to us on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talib, Abdullah bin Masud, Muadh bin Jabal, Abu Al-Darda, Ibn Omar, Ibn Abbas, Anas bin Malik, Abu Hurairah and Abu Saeed Al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with them all, through many chains of authorities and in various versions, that the messenger of Allah said: "Whosoever memorises and preserves for my people forty hadith relating to their religion, Allah will resurrect him on the Day of Judgment in the company of jurists and religious scholars ".
