In what was seen as an unparallel event in the recent history of India, a massive display of unity and brotherhood earmarked the conclusion of the three-day Empower India Conference organized by Popular Front of India with an ocean of people, mostly youths over overflowing the Public Meeting at the Palace Ground, on Saturday 17 February 2007.

All roads did lead to Shaheed Tippu Sultan Nagar with a multitude of crowds participating in the mega event that was well-controlled and orchestrated by dedicated volunteers of the constituents of Popular Front, namely KFD of Karnataka, MNP of Tamilnadu and NDF of Kerala.. The public meeting went forward with precision and as planned with utmost discipline, leaving the state police force drowsing in the backdrop. Many people had arrived in morning itself by special buses from Kerala, Tamilnadu and distant parts of Karnataka, just to attend the mammoth historic event.

The meeting has started at 4pm sharp as scheduled, with Allama Iqbal's "Sare Jahan Se Accha Hindustan Hamara" raising the patriotic atmosphere.

The highlights of the meeting are many. The participation of Hodari Abdul-Ali, Afro-American social activist and journalist who has converted to Islam, and Alan Hart, the British journalist specializing in West-Asian affairs were the distinguished guest speakers who addressed the overflowing assemblage.

The audience consisting largely of young men from Karnataka, Kerala and Tamilnadu was galvanized by the emotional thought-provoking speeches delivered in Kannada, Urdu, Malayalam, Tamil and English by their beloved leaders and guests, leaving spiritual imprints on their hearts and minds, and gearing them up for the huge task ahead. For the 'end' of Conference was just 'the beginning of the struggle towards freedom, justice and security.'

E. Abubacker, Chairman of Popular Front of India in his presidential address while emphasizing the need for creating a broad-based alliance of all oppressed sections, including the minorities, Dalits and backward classes, to ensure equal share in the development process, clarified the distinction between "Hinduism" and "Hindutva". Mr. Abubacker said that the Popular Front is never against Hindus or Hinduism. "We can't equate Mahatma Gandhi with those who killed him," he stressed. “Hindutva is a violent political ideology with in-built hatred towards Muslims and other minority communities”, he added.
