someone once said they have 5 siblings or something like that and a muslim lady replied oh mashallah (i think)
i dont understand this!
Im a bit slow at times could somone break it down for me?

Well its a way of saying praise and recognizing Allahs grandeur at the same time.... its like saying wow awesome accomplishmen (Allah Willed it so) so its a combo of recognizing Allah as greater than your status or achievement and also praising someone...

responding with mashaAllah, means that we are expressing delight in the wonders of Allah. As far as I know it also protects someone's happiness from the evil eye inshaAllah. Hope that helped.

Insha'Allah= if G-D wills [wanting reinforcement, and support from Allah]
Masha'Allah= what G-D has willed ( also meant to denote Wonder and contentment, over what Allah has bestowed )

Mashallah = Allah has willed
Inshallah = if Allah wills it.
Example of Inshallah: I hope for the birth of a healthy baby, inshallah.
Example of Mashallah: *after having given birth* Mashallah, what a beautiful, healthy baby.
