My first attempt at islamic poetry:statisfie
This poem is about my perspective of the veil that preserves a muslimah's integrity, dignity and modesty. Its also generally about other Islamic etiquette.
The language is very very simple but i hope you'll enjoy it anyway.
(feel free to give constructive criticism :D )

Here she comes, I’d hear you say
The one who covers herself throughout the day
Is she covered with scars? Perhaps I’ll never know
Her body is covered. Only her face she shows
Fight for your freedom, I’d hear you say.
Throw that veil and everything away
Enjoy your life for you are the equal of men
Justify your rights. Now take your stand
Why all the hassle, I’d hear you say
Must your really pray five times a day?
Then you’d fast for one whole month
What’s the use when you miss all the fun?
Well my dear friend, I’d say to you.
My body is just fine, I’ve no scars too
I do not cover in shame but with pride instead
Its modesty and not an unfortunate fate
The freedom is mine, I’d say to you.
I can control whatever I do
Why show my flesh to pleasure the men?
There’s no denial. For who else then?
I get to love five times daily, I’d say to you.
You don’t need much. Just a clean heart will do
I get to fast and cleanse my soul for a new year
And the satisfaction I get is much more than mere
So my dear friend, I’d say to you.
Do you still think I’m entangled in a chain or two?
This life I chose it’s because of me
To be true to myself and that’s what I’ll be
