Most of those countries that the US have bases in have given the U.S permission. Most of the countries have the power to close them and kick them out...

They need more people in their colonial army, soon they will be drafting people to join the army. US has a high unemployment rate than ever, most people will join the army for a livelihood. But no doubt the zionist empire will fall.

Sadly England is not one of them because lets face it we are the poodles for America. They should be licking our behinds and not vice versa. Viva England.

They're many Aussie, British and NZ soldiers in Malaysia. And they're here because Malaysia is part of the British Commonwealth.

I dont know that there are American soldiers too. Why a non Commonwealth country have soldiers here.:?

It's Training. Cooperation, job-swapping, happens constantly.

The way the post portrays it is that America, because it has 20 troops teaching the Argentinians how to repair a US built truck, is empire building.

The bitter irony of course, is that America has been very beneficial if you look at the net sum.

For those interested check out this book which details exactly how America has been more of a benign giant, and benifits.

So was rome (historically more of an overall benefit). Rome brought roads and aqueducts and much more to the lands they conquered.

Mendelbaum argues that the US empire is more of a policeman keeping the stupid from hurting themselves than a blood thirsty conqueror. He makes some very strong arguements in his book.

Everyone!

You're primarily seeing the NATO countries. Or in other words, countries that have joined the alliance. They work as a team in case one of them is attacked.

http://www.nato.int

There is nothing sinister about this. Joining the alliance offers smaller countries protection from invasion. The bases are there so that NATO forces are prepared for an attack. It would be impossible to build runways and everything else that would be needed, after a country is invaded, so bases are maintained in all NATO countries.

The US is not building an empire like Rome did by conquering then controlling other territories. It's an alliance of countries that work together so all who live there can live in peace.

USA has been an empire since about World War 1 , so it lasts less than 100 years. Ussually empiers lasted much longer. But now we have different times, everything is faster, so maybe also empires will fall faster. But seriously, i dont see the next candidate for the empire. You say China, but China first of all isnt a democracy. In China everyday are hundreds of riots and protests in villages, because the communistic state takes away thel land from the people. Now there are many extremely rich people in China, but still millions live in great poverty. Soon chinese population will start to getting old, just like western one. They will have to find huge amounts of money for millions of chinese oldmen. Besides, we dont know how long will the communistic state last in China, maybe there will be a revolution soon , like in Eastern Europe 18 years ago, and the whole system will fall apart. There is also India. But they have big problems too. Religious tensions are one of the most important. Millions of people who live in poverty, terrorism, hindu nationalism. If you look at this issue closer, you will see that USA are still in quite good position.
