Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women.

BMI Categories:
  • Underweight = <18.5
  • Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
  • Overweight = 25-29.9
  • Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

I heard that if you want to know if your wieght is ok relative to your height then subtract 100 from your height in cms ..the result should be near to your wieght in kgs

so if you are 175cm then 175-100=75 .. so your optimum wieght should be 75

This BMI thing is some times misleading.What it doesnt do is differenciate da masses.for example,we all know muscles weigh more than fat but using this,an athlete will be told he is obese since he/she might weigh more than da calculated one.
